Very good quality and value
Received today and agree with other reviews: amazing quality, especially for the price. How often lately can you say that? Solid build, very rigid lockup, no slop in bushing, blade edge looks good and sharp enough to cut paper, wood handle well made and finished. I will use this in my Camelbak pack while hiking, but it would also work in a jacket pocket or possibly pants - though too big for EDC.

A real bargain
A real bargain. Beautiful craftsmanship for only $30. It should be more like $200. It's a big knife, 5". It's heavy. The wood inlay is beautiful. Soo glad I bought this.

Great knife that could benefit from spring assist.
For the price you would be hard pressed to get a better knife. It is a very BIG knife and potentially difficult to operate if you're left handed. Unbelievably sharp and solidly built. The only negatives are no spring assist and not being ambidextrous. It would be nice to have spring assist on a knife with a blade that is 5+ inches. But for under $30 it's still a very good knife. Fortunately I am half ambidextrous so I operate the knife right handed.

Very large and solid
Well made. No slop in blade. Its very large. I ended up buying a second smaller one of the same make for EDC.

8Cr13Mov Steel but still a steal.
One of the most important attributes of a knife is the steel used. This knife uses 8Cr13Mov, which is a budget stainless steel with mostly good qualities like being durable and reasonably rust resistance. The only negative of this steel is that it does not have very good edge retention, and that means that if you cut a lot of boxes or thinks like that, you might find that it needs to be sharpened before knives with higher grade steels. On the positive side, this knife should be easy to sharpen. Other than that, this is a decent all around steel. Despite the steel, I really like this knife. It is well made and appears to be very sturdy! It is a hand full of knife too, with an excellent grip. The knife is a frame lock knife, and the frame lock has a very large tab on it that makes unlocking it a breeze. The action is smooth though heavy, but this would likely lighten with use. I was happy to see that this knife appears to use bushings rather than bearings in the pivot. When bearings are used, they easily pick up dirt and become rough. A busing can be very smooth when broken in and they require much less maintenance. This is a big knife that could do light kitchen work, or be a utility knife in the yard. It has a great hold, and handles well. It is easy to cut yourself with some smaller knives but the grip here is substantial and can keep your fingers well away from the blade. This is a crazy amount of knife for the money and in spite of the 8Cr13Mov steel in the blade, it is a steal at the price offered!

Very fair price....its a steal.
This folding, knife is not for the feint of heart. This is, make no mistake, its a BIG Mamma Jama. It carries nicely in you pocket (using the clip). Yes its a bit heavy, but that's about it. I like it because its "intimidation factor" If some Blue hair is attacking you and you pull this guy out. The blue hair will probably immediately start running away crying for mommy. Actually anybody trying to mug you or rob you, will think twice when they lay eyes on this thing pointing their way. Its definitely well made and best of all reasonably priced.

Just Doesn't 'Cut-It'. BUT...
Out of the box, this knife won't even cut cheese. Totally useless for cutting ANYTHING. It'll spread butter, and about that's it. Every screw was loose, and the belt-clip was ready to fall off. Compliments of...wait for it... CHINA. HOWEVER...! This thing is a beautiful knife. It's extremely large, heavy, solid, and the folding action remarkably smooth, fluid, well oiled, with the main piviot screws being the only secure/tight screws on this blade. No flex or slop whatsoever between hande and blade. The knife was completely disassembled with Torx bits, (two loose screws hiden under each wooden hande cover) and retightened with red thread-loc. Especially belt-clip. Main piviot screws seemed OK for now, and were left alone for perhaps a later date where retghtening/adjusting may be required. A white 240-grit aluminum-oxide stone for stainless steel was employed for initial 'roughing-in', degreeing of edge, then a medium diamond (2 hrs). Next, a water-soaked 400-grit whetstone, 1,000-grit, with a leather strop for final deburring (1 hour). It can now be used for shaving. Sharp, Sharp, Sharp. And now, as Paul Hogan would say, "Now...THAT'S a KNIFE!" 'Let's see if it fits!' For as large as this knife is, it 'carrys' beautifully. Back-right pocket of cargo-shorts with a good tactical-belt and you'll never realize it's in there. Nicely weighted lanyard makes this 'beast' appear as almost by magic. There's no snagging, slips out effortlessly, and can be quiet, or...you can snap it open. The action is the best feature of this blade. Smooth. Blade firmly/securely locks into place, and can be easily unlocked/refolded one-handed as well. If you're looking for something 'out-of-the-box' ready-to-go, or... to gift someone, this knife isn't for you. This knife will require at least a couple of hours of skilled labor to hone, and retighten. However, for people that have more 'time-than-money', you can get a beautiful blade, that can be reworked into 'heirloom-quality'... delivered for $33. Yes, I like 'over-priced' Gerbers, Schardes, Kershaws, and K-Bars as well. Just can't afford them. With a little time, skill, and patience, you can lay this 'Beast-Knife'... against any of them.

A Wonderful Surprize of Excellent Quality and Value
The design and quality of this knife are outstanding! It is easily on par with the other big name brands like Kershaw, SOG, and CRKT. And the value for dollar is outstanding. It seems to me that the NedFoss brand is on it's way to becoming a fan favorite. I love it.
