Wall Media Storage - excellent quality product
I recently purchased this wall storage unit for a collection of DVD's. The box is quite heavy and a little awkward to carry, especially up stairs, but once you unpack the contents and begin putting it together, you'll see that it is a quality piece of furniture that goes together in a hurry. It takes maybe 20 - 30 minutes to assemble with 1 person working on it. It has been fully loaded with DVD's for about 3 weeks now and there's no sign of sagging or warping like I've had in the past with cheaper units. I liked this unit so much that I purchased another one last week and it now holds my entire collection of VHS tapes. It came with way more shelves than we needed, but if you're planning to use this for a CD collection, then you will likely use all the shelves that are included. This unit is also very versatile and the shelves are easy to adjust. It's solid and sturdy and looks great with all my other furniture. Yes, it is a little more expensive than some of the other units, but you're paying for quality and it is well worth the price.***update... its now 2 years later and we still love it! This unit shows zero signs of aging or sagging. great product!

A cinephile's dream!
As someone who has a substantial physical media collection, this shelf has been perfect. It maximizes space efficiently, much more than common bookcases, and is really well built. Only difficulty I ran into was putting it together - assembly wasn't that easy, but if you have two people, a few hours, and a power drill, it's manageable. But definitely worth the price and assembly process!

Overall very satisfied, some issues with installing the back
Overall this has worked out perfectly. Quite easy to assemble (except for installing the back). Overall quality and fit and finish is good (mine is black). Shelves fit very well and have concave slots to hold them in place on the shelf support pins (nice touch). I think this definitely worth the price and I am very happy with the finished result. A one star demerit for minor problems I had with installing the back (see below).RE the back panel: The back panel is three separate pieces, each with a fold in the middle held together by tape. One of the pieces in my kit had the tape improperly applied so it could not be fully folded flat. I fixed this by removing the factory tape and replacing it with good ole duct tape.A couple of other tips for installing the back. Temporarily install the center shelves (as recommended, to keep the structure square) but place the cabinet face down (not vertical as the instructions say) on a carpeted surface. Also, predrill the holes for the nails rather than trying to just pound them in place. That way you can accurately control where they are going. This is important, especially for the nails that go into the center two vertical shelf supports (it's really easy to miss the support and have the nails protrude into the shelf space). When pre drilling you can angle the nails so that they are directed toward the shelf supports rather than going straight down.In my kit there were an insufficient quantity of nails and I had to supplement them with some I had on hand to match the recommended nail placement shown in the instructions. It is important to fasten the top of the cabinet securely to the wall. When fully loaded with CD's it is quite top heavy. I did not use the single fasten point method recommended in the instructions. Instead I installed a 36" long 1x2 to the wall with 3" screws fastened into two studs (16" stud spacing) and installed two eye screws (spaced to align with center shelf supports on the cabinet). I also installed eye screws on the center shelf supports. I placed a spacer block between the wall and the top of the cabinet back and used heavy duty tie wraps to pull the top of the cabinet firmly against the spacer. Very secure and no chance of falling over.

The box was over 80 lbs, but I just opened it on the porch and carried the individual parts inside.
The shelves can be changed independently to accept DVD's, VHS tapes and CD's.I have 200+ DVD's and 50 CD's in my shelf and there is space for another 50+ DVD's. It was surprisingly simple to assemble and set up. The individual shelfs are sturdy and the finish paint does not scratch easily. The shelf size can be changed to accept Large LP's and other media.

Family bonding experience.
My teen and I have gotten into collecting physical media again and needed a nice big shelf to hold our DVDs, video games and CDs. I was a little skeptical but it was the only thing I could afford that seemed large enough. I've never, ever put together any sort of furniture before, unless you count a desk chair... But me and my 15yr old whipped this together in under 2hrs. It's sturdy and the only issues we had while assembling were our own user errors. #skillissue (We hammered in some nails that ended up sticking out, hahah. So now we joke about how she looks bad on the inside but great on the outside) But we got her up and in the living room and she looks great. We're planning on getting a 2nd one soon. Would certainly suggest if you're looking for nice value for an affordable price.
