Great recovery suit for your pet
We just got this and it is a great recovery suit! We bought a different brand at first and it was I’ll-fitting. The elastic neck was too big and the circumference on the body was too small so my poor 6 month Balinese was just uncomfortable. Good thing she only had to wear that suit for 2 days. My husband found this and the measurements were simple to figure out which size is right. We got the XS and it is a great fit. We love that the neck has the toggle to tighten to fit our cat’s neck. Since she is slender and long, so the arm holes give her enough room for her legs. I love the Velcro straps for the hind legs so you can adjust depending on your cat. It’s cotton so it’s breathable allowing for your cat to feel comfortable while wearing it.

My cat can't get this off! At last I found one he can't lose!
The fact that my escape artist cat can't get this off is the reason for the four stars. Here are my comments.1. It's easy to put on the cat.2. I apparently bought a size too small although the description indicated that it would fit my cat (by weight). However, I didn't measure the cat's length and those stats were also on the fit chart. My cat is a lanky lean long legged beast so his weight is not around his middle. The neck had to go around him just above his shoulders and consequently it was a little tight. It was worse when I washed it. Would a bigger size fit him? I'm willing to try it. I can't really fault the onesie for fit under the circumstances. You may may be perfectly satisfied, and I might too if I try a size up. I'd have to see. Oh, and be careful about washing. I usually hand wash onesies but I used the dryer because I wanted to get it back on him in a hurry.3. Stretch is fair. No complaints about that, but I didn't want it super stretchy. It's fine.4.Thickness is around heavy-weight T shirt. Pretty good imo. I wasn't looking for a heavy duty coat, just a onesie to keep my cat from chewing himself. Conclusion: I really like this. I'll get another in the next size up if my cat's next steroid shot doesn't stop the chewing.

Medium size fits large cat, details addressing issues other reviews mention
Bought this due to the measurements given and the medium size fits my large (16+ lb) cat. He has a severe licking problem (many meds tried, diet changes and still an on-going problem but recently focused on his belly licking it raw and to the point of bleeding (he also loves to lick everything and always has in the 8 years he's been with us...coming from a home where he was removed by the State)...in reading other reviews i thought i would add information as to how this works for my guy...the velcro is very strong and lasts well and sticks tight; however, the straps seem wide so, when i bring them around to fasten them i twist them a couple of times so that they are more narrow in the area between his body and legs...perhaps this is why he does not have any problem urinating.i do use the device to tighten the elastic around the neck opening but not toooooo tight...also i pull up on the neck opening if the garment seems to inch backwards...he has gotten quite used to wearing it but he will bite and pull at it so i've had to add shoulder patches where he has bitten through....it took about a month for him to do this. The fabric itself is soft and seems thicker than other suits i've seen listed here.As someone else mentioned the double layer at the belly is helpful in protecting from licking and biting in this area.He now has 2 of these and can wear one nearly a week before it needs to be changed...both have been washed a few to several times...hopefully he will be able to go without this one day but meanwhile it has served the purpose well (protection of his belly)....initially, he was freaked out by this (he wouldn't walk around or act normally) but now he is back to his normal active self which is a relief since he has managed to maneuver his way out of all of the various home-made versions and adapted onesies that i tried to avoid having to buy an expensive garment. To wash garment in a machine i found it best to completely close the velcro attachments (not loosely like shown in second photo) and turn inside out for washing and drying...this keeps the velcro from attacking other items being dried.First IMAGE shows kitty (Cena) in garment with patches sewn on over areas he tore through.Second IMAGE shows how loosely the velcro can be attached and still hold (he is big and i felt it too tight to fasten it up over the entire patch...also you might be able to see how the flap is twisted up to the velcro sewn on the back.

Not Escape Proof
I purchased a small for a lanky, long and skinny (teenage size) cat. It fits good except the neck opening is a bit odd. She was licking at her incision after a spay so I thought I'd try this instead of a cone. It worked perfectly the first two days then she managed to pull open the velcro tabs and slip out of it. I loved the idea of the velcro closures so I could easily put ointment on her incision, however the velcro just isn't strong enough to keep her from pulling it open and slipping out of the suit every time I put it on her. I'll try to add some heavy snaps and hopefully that will do the trick.

Perfect product
My cat Oliver has a skin problem from licking himself too much. I took him to the Vet and got some ointment. The vet said to put a cone around his neck. I knew that that wouldn’t work. This is perfect. It took him about 1/2 hour to get used to it. The other cats were checking him out, because he was rolling around and walking funny at first. I had to laugh. Now he is ok and I can apply the ointment without him licking it off. I highly recommend this product, because it doesn’t interfere with him going to the bathroom.

Does not work for cats with one back leg
My year old cat has an amputated rear leg. I bought this to keep him from messing with his abdominal stitches after he was neutered. It was very awkward to secure the rear straps. It ended up being visibly uncomfortable for him to move in, and severely limited his mobility with his rear leg. Where he normally would hop around, he could only drag himself across the floor. I did my best to secure the loose strap on the side where he is missing a leg, but it didn’t help as much as I thought it would. The first time he used the litterbox he urinated all over himself. Immediately threw it away. Waste of money.

Works very well so my cat wasn't happy.
Tried many different brands of suit and this was the sturdiness and most well made. Easy to put on and take off, maching washable. I did have to sew a few parts after he became frustrated and tried to get himself out of the shirt but that was his fault not the manufacturer's.

Good for spay
Got this for Maine Coon cat spay. Fit very well. Length was good. She hates it but to be expected. The only thing I didn’t like was having to mostly remove to check incision site and then try to get it back on. She was not able to lick or fuss at the incision at all which was worth every dime. Nobody likes dealing with the cone of shame and this is a great alternative.

Pratique

Warning!
I put this recovery suit on my cat to stop her scratching and licking a spot on her back due to allergies. All was fine and I was quite happy with the suit. Suddenly, I noticed my cat in distress. Luckily I was right beside her. While she was trying to lick the spot the suit was covering, the elastic closure wrapped around her teeth twisting her neck around. She was not able to free herself and it took all my strength to get the elastic off her teeth, but not before it ripped one of her teeth out. This is one of those hazards you would never imagine when purchasing or putting the suit on your pet, I didn't, and felt I should post this as a warning. It may be something that does not happen often, but I am so thankful that I was right beside her when this happened. If I had been in another room or out of the house the results could have been even worse. I'm not saying not to buy or use the product, but please be aware that this could happen or the elastic closure could catch on something, both of which can injure your pet.

Superior design
My cat likes this suit way better than others I think the velcro straps make it more comfortable for her to walk and more around in.

Très bien pensé
Je suis très satisfaite de mon achat au moins ils sont pas capable de l’enlever. Ce modèle répond très bien à mes attentes. Je le recommande à tous
