Small Doses is Amanda Seales’s wildly popular collection of sharp essays, poignant life advice, and no-holds-barred pearls of wisdom. Comedian, writer, actress, and social media star Amanda Seales is a force of nature who has fearlessly and passionately charted her own course through life and career. Now, in her one-of-a-kind voice that blends academic intellectualism, Black American colloquialisms, and pop-culture fanaticism, she’s bringing her life’s lessons and laughs to the page. This volume of essays, axioms, original illustrations, and photos provides Seales’s trademark “self-help from the hip” style of commentary, fueled by ideology formed from her own victories, struggles, research, mistakes, risks, and pay-offs. Unapologetic, fiercely funny, and searingly honest, Small Doses engages, empowers, and enlightens readers on how to find their truths while still finding the funny! “It is Amanda’s commitment to her own growth and transformation that creates an empowering space for us all, even in our vulnerabilities. These ‘gems’ announce Amanda as one of the most important voices in our culture!” —Brandon Victor Dixon, actor/producer/advocate “Amanda is Smart and Funny as Hell. Brave and uncensored, she will tell you the truth about yourself in a way that even you have to laugh at. She be knowing, ‘cause she takes the time to consider and find out, but most of all because she cares. Brains are the new Tits.” —Cree Summer, musician/actress/mama Review: Love me some Amanda Seales! - I am half way through this book and I highly recommend it to everyone, especially for black women as this book reads like a life manual for us, based on her own experience and her knowledge of the historical experience of black folks that came before us. It’s a love letter for us! I watch Amanda on Insecure and have been to her soul fulfilling and hilarious Smart, Funny, and Black game show in LA. I also follow her on IG and listen to her Small Doses podcast. She’s brilliant, talented, creative who fiercely wants to educate and uplift the black community. Which comes through in everything she does. This book is no different! With it’s colorful pages and personal poems and artwork, in addition to the gems she’s dropping throughout, it’s a book unlike any I’ve read and holds your attention. I’m loving it and it’s inspiring me as well. Go get yours! I’m ordering more for Christmas gifts! ❤️❤️❤️ Review: SHE. DID. THAT. - Small Doses is just that. A small dose of truths that everyone needs to read. Seales' perspective is from that of a black woman, and you're inclined to assume that only a black woman can connect, relate, and take away from these truths. But in fact, the gem dropperies in this book are for everyone! Each chapter will have you either agreeing (sometimes aloud), wishing you were personal friends with Amanda so you could send her a picture of one of the pages with a text that reads 'Let's discuss.', and/or self-reflecting. Small Doses is an acknowledgement of our connections and/or relationships to one another's experiences. It's some of our most embarrassing moments. It's some of the best decisions we've made. It's us trying to figure it out. It's comfort food for the soul. It's insight, a great laugh, and an even better read. I've had this book for two days and I'm on my second read. Do yourself a favor: purchase this book and let Ms. Seales kick some flava in ya ear!

How about one word? Edutaining! (Educational and entertaining)
The book is gorgeous! Aesthetically pleasing from the moment you unbox. Colorful. Vibrant. Direct. Funny. And Thoughtful. I am so impressed with all of the details. Every font type, historical reference, personal anecdote, story, lyric, and drawing, which all convey a sense of power in knowing oneself and the joy of sharing insights for and from our sistahood. I'm only twenty-seven pages in, but I had to scream my congratulations to Ms. Seales!!!! You did THAT!!!!

It gave my wife the courage to leave me...
My wife, ex wife, is really into Amanda Seales. We used to listen to her podcast together on the ride to work before the arguing started. When I heard she had a book coming out I thought to myself this is the perfect gift for her. I almost got it signed but I had...other things to do that day. A month or two later after reading the book and its wisdom my wife up and left me for Brent, her partner at the firm who water skis and whose body doesn't disgust her. It's an amazing book in that it helped my wife see what kind of person I am. I just wish I had a book that could fix me.

Great read and advice, cool visuals
I love Amanda’s podcast and expected to feel the same way about the book. I love the designs and the visuals that accompany her thoughts and advice. I understand that she’s not for everyone but I find her way of approaching subjects so forwardly very refreshing. She doesn’t beat around the bush and sometimes that gives her a bad reputation but I appreciate getting informed in a straightforward manner and not having to dig around to get good advice. It’s definitely a great read if you are a fan of the podcast or of Amanda in general or if you’re looking good read whether you are black, white, or just happen to be white.

Loved it!
This was the most honest look at being female, black, and young but not old that I've ever read. The gems dropped in this book are real, the format is fresh and Sealed stats true to herself.

GET ITTTTT ! You won’t regret !
I’ve been a fan of Amanda for a minute but ever since her podcast ‘Small Doses’, I’ve grown to love her more. I love her witty spin and take on many of the topics she speaks of such as being a creative, self care, relationships and etc. , so when I heard she had a book I knew I had to have it. I’m so glad I do! The book is just as good as the podcast and filled with so much information and insight, it’s a great read. I thoroughly enjoy and recommend it. Happy reading (;

AMAZING
From the art work to the content I have not had a dull moment reading this book. I have loved her since Insecure and she inspired me with this work to finally put my books out. She is real and forever herself. Amanda inspires me so much I truly pray to meet her someday I would love to have her as a mentor. She's that big sister I dreamed of as a kid. I love you Amanda and can't wait for more. P.S. If you didn't know she also has a podcast keep up with her as you go.

Instagram in a book
Beautiful book filled with snippets of thoughts and opinions like an Instagram post. Not everything is agreeable as expected, but interesting nevertheless. This book is ideal for young people up to the age of 30.... Or anyone young at heart like myself! (I'm 39)
