Sadie'sof New Mexico Hot Salsa - 70 oz Jug - Tomato, Chillies & Jalapenos (Pack Of 2)

What's there to say? It's Sadie's! Any native can attest to how great the salsa from the world's best-known New Mexican restaurant is (though Tomasita's is still my favorite restaurant). The bottle lists six ingredients with no preservatives, all of which are what you'd expect in a salsa.Like any food made with fresh ingredients, it will go bad after a couple of weeks even in the refrigerator, so be sure to eat daily and share the gospel with your friends. Also, be aware that this is the real deal: it's hot. In fact, I think what comes in the bottle somehow winds up hotter than what you get in the restaurant. First-time buyers might want to start with the Not-So-Hot variety; the flavor's pretty much the same. Also note that this isn't your typical mass-produced junk, so there can be a little variety by batch. I got a bottle a few years ago that was inedibly hot and had to be thrown away, and I've been drowning my food in this stuff since I was 10. Only happened once and hasn't happened since, but you should still be warned if you don't yet have the tolerance. It's definitely worth building it up for, though!

UPDATE (11/16/20): Since my initial review (which I have since removed), I have tried several other salsas and compared them (literally, side-by-side), with Sadie's. I found myself enjoying the Sadie's Hot Salsa more frequently, and reaching for it more often than the others. Sadie's was the winner! I was able to find Sadie's for $16.98 today on Amazon, and re-purchased another bottle at a MUCH BETTER price than what I initially paid- To whomever is responsible for pricing: thank you for reducing the cost of this mildly-hot, yet tasty, salsa! This makes it more palatable; and I would continue to buy Sadie's at the aforementioned better price-UPDATE: (11/18/20): UNFORTUNATELY, when I received the new bottle of Sadie's I had ordered, it arrived CRACKED & DAMAGED! Salsa was LEAKING out of the front-face of the bottle, and into the plastic wrapper! I alerted AMAZON right-away; and I appreciated the fact they issued a prompt refund and credit!

I was looking for a different hot salsa after our previous brand raised their prices way too high. The reviews for Sadie's of New Mexico Hot Salsa were very favorable, so I had to give it a try. It has a hot, spicy flavor but not overly so. The flavor is very good and tastes great on tacos and/or tortilla chips. My wife puts it on her scrambled eggs. I purchased just one jug, which was reasonably priced, but I see that it is priced even lower if you buy two at a time, which is what I will definitely do in the future. I think I have found my new favorite hot salsa.

Most of the mass-produced stuff on the supermarket shelves tastes like hot tomato sauce with lumps in it. This stuff? The first thing I noticed when I ripped the safety seal off was the smell of fresh jalapenos and onion. It smells like it just came out of a blender. But the taste is ridiculous. I've never had a hot salsa that was so flavorful. I can't wait til we have Mexican food so I can throw this stuff all over it. Don't let the big jug throw you off. This stuff is awesome! If you don't like it SOMEONE you know that likes hot salsa definitely will. As for me I'm gonna go see if I can subscribe to this.

If you like "hot" spicy food, this is spot on for what "hot" should mean. It will make you sweat. It's hot. Not insanely hot, but high end of hot. So, if you DON'T like spicy food, definitely avoid this product, it will easily be too much for you.All that being said, if you can handle the heat (like me), problem is your digestive system won't. This stuff will cut right through you and give you bad stomach cramps the next day, due to the intense heat, and your body will blast it all out if you catch my drift. Never eat a lot before anything important the next day. So if you use it, small doses only. Which is paradoxical because the container is quite large.

As a New Mexico native, I used to search high and low for this salsa and bribe family members to ship it to me in all the remote places I've been. I've eaten this stuff since I was a kid, and my kiddos are able to grow up on it now too (even though they aren't NM natives). Its HOT so be forewarned...but its soooo good. Good with almost anything: chips, tacos, eggs, any burrito, you name it! We've received packages broken or cracked but amazon always takes care of it for us. We love this stuff!

I first started eating at Sadie's when she had the little place on Second street next to a bar and a gas station. When I came back from Basic Training and it was gone I thought she'd folded up the business upon retirement. Guess it moved to the Valley Bowl instead, but I never found it again. The Sadie's on Juan Tabo has become a mandatory pilgrimage site for me every time I visit family in Albuquerque now. I go through about two of these large bottles a month just on my own. Reminds me of home. Real New Mexico style instead of just one of the wannabes that advertise as "authentic". Not the hottest salsa I've had in the State, but the flavor is unbeatable and not overpowered by trying to put enough jalapenos in it to make paint stripper.

I always make my own salsa, which consists of Roma tomatoes, Tomatillos, Serrano and jalapeno peppers, and garlic. I wrap them in foil and roast on BBQ or gas stove. Blend it in a food processor and it's good to go. And I like it HOT. I'm always on the hunt for a good premade salsa for the occasions I just don't feel like making it. I've never found a good one, until now. I'm glad I trusted the reviewers because this is the BEST premade salsa I've ever had. It does not have that fake canned tomato taste. It isn't watery. It has great flavor and is good and HOT! I love it!!
