No need for foundation anymore
I started using this tinted primer several years ago. I had read that a green tinted primer would really help even out my radish undertones. My husband doesn't like when I wear foundation, so I was looking for an alternative to what I had been using for 25 years. I have always used a matte foundation as I have oily skin and large pours. The first time I used a regular primer, I discovered its pour smoothing qualities really made my skin look good. After using this particular one, it now appears as though I have foundation on in the sense that the tone is completely even now! So, at 53, I've ditched the foundation, use this exclusively, and maybe through a tiny bit of powder on before putting my blush and bronzer on. I can imagine if I tried a cream based bronzer or blush, that would eliminate the need for powder as well, come to think of it.... that may be the next thing I try. You really can't beat this stuff for the price. I use about a pea size amount for my whole face. It takes 10 years off my face easily. And just for anyone who is wondering if it looks green at all on your skin, I can assure you it does not because of my very fair skin with a ruddy undertone.

Happy with this product!
This product works like the more expensive Clinique product I used to use. My makeup went on smoothly and the redness is covered well.

Green for Rosacea
So, I am on an endless quest to find the right primer that will help tone down my rosacea cheeks, but not break the bank.I want something that will blend well, not too oily, I can use with or without foundation/powder, does not cause sensitivity issues, etc..I truly do like this formula. A lot. But it doesn’t do a lot for redness control. Even the color out of the bottle is barely tinted green. It goes on so smooth and nice. I put it on and I could see a very slight difference, but it wasn’t enough to make me a total convert.I have combination skin. With a majority of my rosacea focused in the cheeks.Because of the medication I am on for blood pressure, I can get very red faced on occasion, but honestly, I don’t think any make up – besides very professional stage make up- like what Jeffree Star can do, would even make a difference on days like that. But for just basic day-to-day red toning? This sadly is not it.And it’s a shame because I honestly like how it works & feels. For now, I’m going to use it in conjunction with the Elf green concealer and see how that works, but unfortunately, I will have to pick a new green face primer.

Comparable (or better than) expensive primers
Now that I'm going to be teaching via zoom, I wanted to look camera ready. LOL.I shrank at buying my usual $35 primer, which I like but don't LOVE. So I thought I'd try both the clear and the green version of this primer. For comparison sake I put clear on one side and green on the other. The green went on differently than the clear primer--my expensive clear and this clear creates sort of this silky smooth (silicone) base. Green went on creamier. Green did subtly cancel out redness. I don't wear much makeup, so I just brushed on some loose powder. Here's where I was surprised. Both worked better than my $35 primer. The powder didn't settle into my fine lines on either side of my face, but especially not on the "green" side. Whoda thunk that the cheaper stuff would beat the expensive stuff? On camera, it looked pretty great, too, and I did see a subtle difference between the "green" and the clear side (I looked less tired on the "green" side). I'm sold. Good for you Maybelline!

Matte finish, non-greasy, light application! Perfect!
I love this primer! I don't wear makeup, but I do like my skin to look and feel smooth. I'm 36 and some of my skin age is beginning to show, and I was looking for something that would help with fine lines. I apply my daily moisturizer, eye cream, and this primer and my skin feels so smooth! It's non-greasy, applies a bit like sunscreen but dries with a matte finish. It doesn't have an unpleasant smell either. I've always had a very red pigment to my skin, and when I get hot or laugh too hard, my face flushes so red it's almost purple. This primer seriously reduces that cherry hue! I've been looking for years for a product that didn't leave my skin feeling greasy or heavy, but also gave me the results I wanted. I have incredibly sensitive skin and can't wear any foundation, whether liquid or powder, I also can't wear any eye makeup except a little eye shadow from time to time. This primer reduced the appearance of capillaries around my eyes and didn't burn my eyes either. I will definitely be buying again.
