Finally! Best Earbuds I've Had In a Decade!
I've had plenty of headphones from the Apple iPod originals which i really liked but went out after a few years, then i tried Bose earbuds which were absolutely horrid in design and sounded like pure garbage, then I tried JVC Gummies which i thought were kind of decent, and i then also purchased Yuin earbuds which are really awesome sounding but a little costly! Then I came across these by accident. Read the reviews here and thought i'd try them. I've tried all sorts of earbuds and despise the earpods too...and with these earbuds I'm severely impressed with the design, sound, quality, and price! I popped these right out of the box, and noticed they have a nice long chord, not cheap feeling either like some other brands feel, and also love the gold connector which makes all the difference in sound quality! Let me just say I'm not a bass guy, but these Sennheiser's have just the perfect amount! These not only sound very rich but also sound very beefy and pure with nice highs and lows, not too trebly either! Just perfect! It puts all my other earbuds to shame! Maaaan...i have to say I really think i fell in love with these right away, are a bit bigger than regular earbuds, but feel comfy with the foam covers that are provided in the box. These are better than all other earbuds I've had over the past decade! These are also available in a variety of colors which make it appealing! Very happy with the nice dark blue color, gold connector, long chord, sound, comfort, bass, treble, highs, lows, quality, everything and cannot believe these are this cheap for the sound!? Cannot stand the earpods that are so popular now, these type of earbuds are hard to find now! Thanks Sennheiser for a quality product that is hard to find nowadays! Big Cheers!

headphones
Look, headphones are not all made equal--not even close. These headphones are by no means great. But, earbuds shouldn't be great. I've had at least a dozen pairs of earbuds in the last decade or so and they've all broken. These include 4 dollar headphones from an airplane along with a nearly 100 dollar pair of earbuds. The thing with earbuds is: they break. Really easily. You toss them in your bag, you twirl them around in boredom, generally you don't really take good care of them. I put my headphones in a little hard cylinder, but they still break after a year or so. Don't buy expensive earbuds. Having said that, these are fine earbuds. 20 dollars is a very reasonable price and I expect to use these for a year or so. The sound quality is good. I have a 200 dollar pair of headphones at home that blow them out of the park; but that's to be expected. I wear them to the gym and I have no complaints in sound. I've docked a star for the comfort: the buds are too bulbous. I think my ear canals are on the larger side, but these are still too girthful to fit comfortably. After an hour or so I'm ready for them to leave my ears in peace. If you have small ear canals these will be exceptionally uncomfortable. This style of earbud is my favorite, for they don't block out outside noises. Really, the only use I've found for the rubbery, in-ear kinds are on busses or airplanes (don't be that guy who wears noise blocking headphones while on a bike). Give these headphones a shot if you need a new pair. Sennheiser is a reputable brand and they make well-priced headphones.

Exceptional sound; too big
I purchased these earphones to replace my failing Apple earbuds, after having Sennheiser recommended to me by a large number of audiophile friends. I specifically chose this pair because of the high rating and good reviews. The audio quality on these earphones is good, though they do emphasize signal noise when idle which gets bothersome at times, especially with an amplifier which turns off when idle (you'll notice the cut in noise more than the noise itself). However, when they are actually playing, the noise is unnoticable. A larger problem in use is the cable noise, which can get bothersome when walking or jogging. The treble and midrange response are poor compared to the bass, so if you listen to primarily guitar-based music (like folk), it's probably not for you; I guess I sorta expected a more balanced sound from such a touted brand. Luckily, this does not harm the sound greatly and can be fixed with a graphic equalizer to tone down the bass, at the cost of some quality. If you have small or even slightly below-average-sized ears, these will be horribly uncomfortable for you. Especially without the pads, which I guarantee you will lose within a week (they're harder to get on than to take off). I find this poor fit also leads to greatly diminished sound isolation, which is a problem for me as I use them primarily for going on walks or working in busy labs. The angle of the jack for this causes my phone to rotate sideways in my pocket, but this may not be an issue for different devices. Over all, I'm impressed with these earphones, but when they inevitably break, I will be looking at other Sennheiser models (perhaps the twist-to-fit ones) for a better fit. I would also recommend Sennheiser for circumaural headphones, as this would solve all of my complaints, besides signal noise (which is more an issue with my amplifier) and the poor midrange and treble.

very good ear buds-best I've found for <$25
very good reproduction. these are 32ohm earbuds so music will be slightly muted on iPods. Good news is you can wear them comfortably while lying on a pillow. They look bulky but honestly, they are like not wearing any at all. highly recommended. Update: I've used these daily now for about 3 weeks and I have found they are very wearable (they don't fall out while I'm working or riding my bike) and are hardly noticeable ( they do not press against my ears or head when I sleep with them on nor do they fall out ). They do look a little gaudy for my taste but the comfort level more than makes up for that shortcoming. I use these with a Sansa Clip+, an iPod Classic, an Asus MeMo 10 tablet and several HP and Dell laptops. While compatible with all of these devices, they really shine with the tablet, sonically outperforming every set of earbuds I've got or ever had. The iPod, and all Apples in my experience, like lower impedance (lower ohms) to deliver the loudness I need to overcome hearing loss. These Sennheisers measure 38.1 ohms (35 advertised) and deliver better volume and clarity than my 40+ ohm units. They are very well suited for extended periods of use. Classical and Jazz are very well rendered without any coloration to my ear. I don't think they are go-to set for BASS freaks. The render low end frequencies well without buzzing or distortion but cannot deliver the in ear thump my grand children want. Mids and highs are well done without the high-frequency fatigue many lower ends models induce. If you use an equalizer these units can be really dialed in to suit you. Hope this helps.

The Low End Of A Great Brand And They Are Still Great!
My previous earbuds were a set of Sennheiser MX270s that I purchased sometime in 2012. I've carried those cross country a couple of times, I've tossed them in overnight bags. I've carried them in my pocket. I've stepped on them, dropped them, dragged them, left them on dashboards in the desert sun and at one point the left bud was chomped by a small dog. They've never given me a moments problem. Now, after years of use the dog chomped side is starting to get a bit scratchy so it's time to replace them. I've been a fan of and used Sennheiser for years, owning numerous sets including pro level studio cans and all have exceeded my expectations. I decided to give the MX 365s a chance this time around. And, as usual, Sennheiser doesn't disappoint. Much. On this set the rubberized single cord on the 270s has been replaced by a harder vinyl type dual cord that doesn't feel quiet as sturdy as the 270s. The earpieces are slightly larger than the 270s. And it seems the bass may be a bit more prevalent than the 270s, but ALL earphones/buds seem to be going in that direction. I really prefer a flatter response but these are fine. I honestly don't believe these will last as long as the 270s but that's ok. The sound quality is where it's at and Sennheisers are FAR AND AWAY better than anything else I've run into in the sub $20 price point. Well worth the cost and it won't break the bank if you break the 'phones! Get them, you won't be disappointed.

Great sound quality, great value - UPDATE a year later they don't work
UPDATE: I wrote the original review in Sept. 2012. Now it is October 2013 and the left side doesn't work anymore. They worked well for as long as they worked. Now they are in the garbage and I'm looking for a replacement. ---------------------------------------------------------- I was looking for earbuds which were higher quality than the standard $10 buds, but wouldn't knock a huge hole in my wallet. The Sennheiser MX 365 earbuds were an excellent buy. The sound quality is very good, and a clear upgrade over the earbuds that came with my iPod. Some reviews said the earbuds are too big, but they fit comfortably in my ears. If you find the standard iPod earbuds to be comfortable, you'll like these too. I actually find the Seenheiser design to be more ergonomic and they are even more comfortable than the standard iPod earbuds. Also, I like the look. Great buy and I highly recommend them.

Build qualiy has gone down.
I've bought around 10 pairs of these earbuds. I love their sound quality (compared to other earbuds) and find them very comfortable to use for long periods of time. I'm a pretty heavy listener and while I try and handle my earbuds gently they always wear out after 6 months to a year. The wire near the plug gets flexed frequently and eventually breaks inside the insulation. As long as a pair lasts 6 months then I am happy and don't bother with a warranty return. In the past these earbuds generally lasted about that long, I now have four busted sets that all broke after less than a month of use. The failure rate of the drivers (speakers) has shot through the roof. Each bud seems to have a high and low driver and after around a month one of the 4 will start to buzz then quit working altogether. I can try and get them replaced under warranty, but for smaller items like this, the cost in time to go through the return procedure is greater than the purchase price. If the manufacturer could fix this issue I would highly recommend them. I've tried 12+ models of earbuds and these were my favorite, but if they don't last then nothing else really matters.

Superior replacement for the Sony MDR-E828...sound marvelous
These are surprisingly good earphones; they surpass the audio quality of several of my other pairs of more expensive earbuds, as well as in-ear style phones. I think the best way to describe their sound is “well balanced”. They’re transparent, open, and airy, but with well-defined bass response. I’m not a fan of hyped, exaggerated bass…that type of bass is far too muddy for my ears. Vocals on the Sennheiser MX 365s are nicely “present”, with appealing depth in the midrange frequency. I amazed that they sell for only $20 … quite a value. Some reviewers have complained about the buds being too big for their ears, but they fit mine just fine. (They seem slightly larger than the Sonys, but not problematically so). These are a superb replacement for the Sony MDRE828LP which now sells for $59.95. I’ve been using 2 pair of the Sonys for years, and was bummed when one channel went out on the pair I use at work. The Sennheisers actually sound a bit better than the Sonys to my ears, with improved low frequency (and a tad more volume through my Alcatel OneTouch smartphone). I listen to all types of music, and these sound good across all music genres. Highly recommended!
