" Absolutely LOVE it for daily wear
Wearing "bleached." Absolutely LOVE it for daily wear! Lime crime velvetines are definitely my favorite of all the liquid lipsticks out there! For those not familliar with liquid lipstick, they apply like a gloss, and set within a few minutes to a matte, long lasting finish. If you're wanting to use a lip liner, be sure to use it after your liquid lipstick sets- using before is pretty counter productive as these are so pigmented they will hide the lip liner altogether. I personally think the lighter colors as well as the metallics look better lined- but really comes down to personal preference and most of the time I wear velvetines as is. I know some people find velvetines drying, and I somewhat agree with that, but honestly I'll take slightly dry lip stuffs that lasts literally all day as opposed to reapplying 10+ times a day! A trick to avoid overdrying of the lips is to apply a quick swipe of CHAPSTICK (not balm, not gloss- plain old chapstick!) and blot before applying your velvetines. The only negative about doing this is your velvetines will not last quite as long. Tips for applying- take your time! Keep a few q-tips and some makeup remover handy and erase any mistakes quickly- the longer you wait, the harder it is to take off! -Start by lining your lips with the wand, when you've got your shape just right, fill in the rest. -Be sure to scrape the applicator on the inside rim of the tube to remove any excess/drippy liquid lipstick; start lining with a small amount of product so it doesn't drip and glob in all the wrong places! - A little goes a long way with this highly pigmented stuff and the great thing about velvetines is you can build it on itself for more intense color if it's streaky. - I find that one pass is sufficient, but if you want to add another layer be sure to allow the first layer of liquid lipstick to dry completely before adding the next! - And last, if you need to remove your liquid lipstick but don't have any makeup remover handy, in a pinch a little moisturizer, olive oil, or even some cheap lip gloss will do the trick! Really anything a little oily will do- just apply a thin layer of said oily product all over your lips, let sit for a few seconds, then wipe it all away with a paper towel- voilà! These are a great buy for anyone wanting to try liquid lipstick for the first time (and of all the brands I've tried, lime crime remains my favorite). I wear "bleached" as my every day color- it's the perfect pinky-nude, only shades darker than my natural lip color. Some other great colors I love are Sasha (a deep mauve-nude), rodeo (a muted red tone), Cupid (super soft angelic pink), shroom (a neutral brown-nude)... clearly I like the neutral colors! I highly recommend velvetines and plan to continue to buy my favorites as well as continue to keep buying fun new colors to try out! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lime Crime is Problematic But Aren't We All
Since good ol Lime Crime refuses to let me order due to the billing address being wrong (even though one order went through no prob???) I have to resort to Amazon and Poshmark for their products. But that isn't why I'm giving it 4 stars, I'm thankful Amazon has it in stock at all, thank you Amazon for always being there for me bby. :* No, I'm giving it 4 stars because I didn't really like the shade on me. Since I bought it online there's no real way to test it, no Lime Crime stores or...really any store at all that sells their stuff is anywhere near the town I live in. It honestly just kind of looked like my normal lips. And I know, I know, "bleached," it's supposed to look natural. But I mean there was literally no difference between my lip shade and this. It just made them matte. It's pretty drying, as all liquid lipstick is, so I recommend rubbing some moisturizer on your lips before applying, it helps. I guess I just expected more. I am going to try pairing it with some of their shimmery diamond lip topper junk, that could work. I only had to apply once, however, as is the norm with Lime Crime. I didn't really eat or drink much during the day though so that may affect application amount. And if you have Amazon prime, it's honestly cheaper to buy on here even though it's $2 higher than on their site, just because of shipping fees. PS it may be hard to see in the pic, I was actually taking a picture of my eye shadow attempt but I did have the lipstick on in it as well.

Good color (New Americana) with amazing staying power but consistency way too thin
The consistency is extremely thin and seems like it will spill out of the container very easily if knocked over. I am not sure if this is normal or not but it seems extremely risky. I also think the first color I got (Bleached) was either a bad batch or the color was too light for my lips, because it did not seem to have much pigment. That may have been because it was such a close match to my natural color but I am not sure. I did like how well it stayed on my lips, though. It is very true that this stuff does not budge at all once dried. I figured it would be good for a darker color, so I just recently purchased New Americana and I do love the color and staying power of it. The color is a deep, bright red and once it dries it doesn't go anywhere, which is extremely important for such a vibrant red color. Unfortunately though, the consistency is still extremely thin and I am very paranoid about knocking it over and spilling it everywhere. Overall, my review is mixed. I didn't like the color Bleached but New Americana is wonderful for me. I think I will like this company more for darker colors because of the staying power and they don't stain things at all (which my boyfriend will appreciate). I do think having such a thin consistency is a liability though, and eventually I am going to end up spilling it. It is expensive and probably very messy if spilled, so I don't like that at all. I would like to give it a higher rating because it has such amazingly long staying power and New Americana is such a vibrant and pretty red, I just really don't like how thin the consistency is.

Favorite Lip Color Ever! I Will Never Run Out of This!
Love this color! I can apply without looking because of the shade. Perfect for everyday wear! Beautiful natural looking shade on my lips! Same issues with the flaking while eating or drinking, but it's easier to apply so it doesn't bother me. Still gets on teeth. Just make sure you have a mirror and you wait until the coat is dry to move your lips. It might need reapplication with eating or drinking and it slightly crumbles when you apply a second coat. It could just be my dry weather here in Arizona. Just use a clear coat to wake it up. I don't care though the color is so freakin' gorgeous. I have gotten used to applying this color and it is worth the wait of letting it dry. My secret to applying this color flawlessly is using a lip brush and outlining my lips with the color like you would with a lip liner and then filling in with the color. You can use a lip liner as well. I just was having a hard time finding an exact matching shade for awhile so that's how I was tiding myself over and it worked. But this is the most beautiful shade of grey/beige. It's supposed to imitate the texture and look of a rose petal. I think the color is absolutely stunning on any skin tone!

4 Stars
I ordered the shade bleached, this being my first Lime Crime purchase. First off I'd like to say these are authentic, I am very careful when buying brand name cosmetics on Amazon. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is. If you look on the Lime Crime site, and look under retailers- you will find it links directly to their products on Amazon. Second, this is a good liquid lipstick. I did expect it to last longer than it did based on reviews I've seen on YouTube ect. It does last a few hours, and it layers beautifully. It smells very sweet, like icing. Next, the color bleached is a lot darker on me then I expected. I am a NC15 in MAC and this color looks similar to TheBalm Committed on me. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, but probably will not be buying anymore Lime Crime Velvetines. I will be sticking to my Stila liquid lipsticks which are AMAZING.
