Great book for kids
We were taking our kids to Egypt and wanted to read to them before we went. This was one of the books we bought and our kids really enjoyed it.

Badly written and many typos
Lots of basic errors in the language - it's like it was translated or two people with different goals wrote it. There are multiple typos, many unnecessary commas, flowery language that makes it harder to understand, and run-on sentences. These are two complete sentences:"The new ruler to establish the capital in Memphis, not far away from the delta for these reasons.""Over time, Egyptian glass products were another major export and influence, and the country's craft ultimately made its way to the Romans."The facts are in there, but the book is not well enough written for children or anyone.

It's well written for a middle school aged child, and covers a lot of information
I use this book for homeschooling my grade 8 son, I thought it was awesome. It's only just under a hundred pages but covered a lot of information. It's well written and kept my sons interest.

Wordy without saying anything
I was looking for something more advanced for an older elementary schooler than the Magic Tree House Fact Trackers which are great but were outgrown. I find this whole series throws a bunch of names and dates in long winded text with very little if any explanation of how or why things happened and very little exploration of other topics such as tools, way of life, architecture, etc Save your money and wait until the kids can read middle or high school level history books.
