An eye-opening new book on a venerable topic.
This is beautifully produced and nearly encyclopedic look at the state of figurative drawing today. It runs the gamut from icons like Raymond Pettibon to lesser known emerging artists. The book has the advantage of being generously sized, allowing readers to get the full details of each image. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to engage with contemporary art, or a student just starting out.

A great resource
This book will be an excellent resource in the introductory drawing classes that I teach, not to mention a nice addition to my own library. Some really cool, relevant artists here - Jockum Nordstrom, Marlene Dumas, Marcel Dzama, Raymond Pettibon...the list goes on. A great find.

A beautifully produced and inspirational survey that makes you realize how diverse figure drawing is today. Charles Avery, Dr Lakra, Tal R, Rosemarie Trockel, Chad McCail, Marcel Dzama. Can't imagine a smarter take on the subject.

IF you can it art
It's not the sellers fault more the publisher. The artists chosen (if you can even consider their childlike "art" as something making them artists) mostly created images that are suggestive and grotesque, at least to me. Didn't read it and only got it for class.
