Basic Coatings STREETSHOE Waterbased Wood Floor Finish Gloss 1 Gallon

I compared Street Shoe with Bona's high gloss product and Street Shoe won hands down. It spread easier and leveled out perfectly, even in temperatures approach 100 F, I live in Arizona. The product is harder than Bona's non-catalyzed products and reaches 90% maximum hardness in 24 hours with full cure in 7 days. I applied 2 coats of sealer and 3 topcoats of Street Shoe. The finish is nearly as smooth as glass. I had no issues with air bubbles dissipating and could brush over areas that looked thinly covered without brush strokes appearing in the final coats. I used a wood handled sponge applicator; not the open-celled, stiff sponge but the soft sponge with closed cells. This is important to get the best results. I also used a soft bristle brush designed for water-based finishes and it worked, too. Basic Coatings has been making superior water-borne finishes for decades. I used Street Shoe on the floors in my entire home 30 years past, and they were recoated about every 7-8 years without sanding. My above comments pertain to using Street Shoe on small wood surfaces, NOT FLOORS, which requires vastly different application techniques. It won't yellow, and is durable and easy to re-coat. A great product.

Excellent product. Easier to apply and much better results, greater durability than minwax floor ply.EDIT: Had to lower the score significantly, this product has NOT held up well. We have a small dog, and the finish has gouged all over the place from the dog going across the floor. I've used cheaper & more difficult to use products that held up better. Maybe easy isn't the only factor, but this is nowhere near as durable as I was led to believe, the floor looks like crap now and it's not even a year old. I now need to sand it down and apply a couple more coats, hopefully at least it wont get down to the wood if I lay it on extra thick.

The package arrived damaged. The catalyst bottle had the seal broken and the product has leaked into the packaging. We were right in the middle of a large flooring project and did not have time to mail the product back and wait for a replacement. Opted for another product

Easy to apply. Stands up to pet mess.

I had to match the sheen of an existing floor. If you have the patience you mix to get any sheen you want. I would buy it again.

The very best I have ever used..I have finished the wood floors in 4 of my homes and nothing comes close to doing even a remotely better job...don't waste your time with anything else.
