Works great! Lowers pH
I use my peat for water changes: I put a tablespoon amount in a small mesh bag, drop that into a gallon of chlorine-removed tap water and let it sit for at least a week. It’s ok to use the peat directly inside your tank, but remember to have a pH and high range pH test kit available and to check your pH regularly as your pH in the tank will continue to go down until you remove it. After awhile it does lose its potency and you have to replace it. But it doesn’t lose potency for months, which makes this product long-lasting while also going easy on your fish and not causing them any shock.
