This blanket was washed according to the care label prior to first use. I was unpleasantly surprised when I saw the amount of lint left in the washer and clinging to the blanket itself after that first wash (see photo 1). Even after shaking the blanket before drying, the dryer's lint catcher was overloaded at the cycle's end. I also had to vacuum the lint from the floor.The blanket is a nice weight and lovely texture (hence, the 4 star rating so far) so I hope it will be good for my elderly MIL. I doubt I'll be buying another, though.UPDATE 3/24/19-Washed a 2nd time today. Fibers still coming off noticeably in washing machine (see photo #3). Photo 4 shows an empty drier lint trap and photo 5 shows the same trap after drying this blanket a second time. Lowered my rating.

I loved the feel of this blanket.it is thin but still has some weight to it. I don't like how it came apart at the seems on the 1st wash. It also seems small . Maybe it shrunk in the wash? I'm returning it.

This is just the blanket I was looking for and I love it. As other reviews have said it had a smell when first taken out of the package, however that is due to the plastic zipper bag it comes in. I washed the blanket before use and the smell is completely gone. To be honest I also ignored the instructions when washing and used a normal wash cycle with a warm wash and cold rinse. I also put it in the regular heat of the dryer (with a standard, unscented dryer "fabric softener" sheet). It still came out perfect. I find it to be very soft and flexible, not at all stiff or "crunchy" as others have described. It's a great weight, not heavy but still more than a sheet or flannel blanket. Because it's cotton it's very breathable. It holds in body heat just enough without making you overheat. As for the color, mine is a medium turquoise that leans more toward the blue side. It's a beautiful color, and I wouldn't say it has much, if any, green to it at all.

This is a soft, thick, and warm cotton blanket in a waffle weave. Breathable, too. It has a nice weight to it, and launders easily. This blanket was priced higher than some other cotton blankets on Amazon, but I believe the higher quality and thicker fabric is worth the extra cost. This blanket should last a very long time if well cared for. Very nice product.

Perfect blanket for layering between a flat sheet and down comforter for winter nights. I'm using it in my converted van which has a non traditional bed size, so I can't comment on fit, but I can comment on the feel and weight of the blanket. I washed and dried it before use and it softened up nicely. Has the desired weight I was after too -- not too thin, and not too heavy / thick. I think it's going to be a nice addition to the van bed.

UPDATE 4/14/20: the one downfall to this blanket is that it snags easily.this is a very honest review: no weird smells, color is a true golden mustard, after washing 1 time, it shrunk a little, now measures 90x102, no excess lint in my washer, the typical lint in the dryer. this is heavier than I was wanting, but it will be good for fall/winter. I washed in cold and dried it in the dryer on a regular setting.I always buy 1 size up. I bought a king for my queen bed. I don't think it will fit a king comfortably.I am not being compensated for this review.I'm sure some have had other experiences, but I would recommend this blanket.

Im very disappointed with this blanket because of how it held up in the wash. Its beautiful right out of the box and will stay that way until you wash it. Not only did it have all those lint balls / piles all over it and clogged my dryer vent< i had to pick off each one and then I noticed while doing that, that the treads came un-weaved and broke so I had threads that were sticking up from the weave about 1/2" that I had to tie a knot in. Then the 2nd wash was the same and I just cut those threads down. If I wash it a 3rd time I think it will have to be used as a dog blanket. Its sad because it was beautiful out of the box. Oh also, Its really heavy and hot so wouldn't be a good summer blanket. I gave it a 3 star just for the price of this waffle blanket but now I know that unless you do pay the hundreds of dollar for the real waffle blanket, you'll get this. (you get what you pay for)

This blanket is a nightmare. Its pretty for my guest room but after first wash and drying I literally had to have service people come deep clean the dryer vent. The amount of blanket thread was nuts! Now its shedding all over the guest room. This blanket is horrible quality. Im throwing both away.
