A Wonderful Can of Soup
As I wrote in my review of the Baxter's Scotch Broth, I am an old-time Campbell's Scotch Broth lover, and I miss it greatly. However, I have to say that I disagree with the reviewer who gave this Heinz Scotch Broth one star. I found this soup to be very satisfying. It is tasty, hearty, thick, and rich--even thicker and richer than Campbell's. To be sure, the price is very high, but if you are dying for a bowl of scotch broth, this is worth it. And in case you are choosing between the Heinz and the Baxter's, the Heinz is superior. Both are produced in and shipped from England, so it takes a while to receive the product, but it's worth the wait--especially for the Heinz. Those longing for Campbell's Scotch Broth will not be disappointed.

Scotch soup!
It’s not Pepper Pot soup, but it’s an earnest try!

Gross!
Gross rotten mutton smell and flavor. Barley was mush. Threw it out after trying to gag it down. Campbell used to make a delicious Scotch broth, gone now.

Excellent, but pricey, soup
Excellent soup. Scotch broth is hard to find, and I was surprised this had to be shipped from Britain. That makes it pricey. I don't think I will be buying it again despite how good it is. It just costs too much.

OUTRAGEOUS PRICE!
This is not the old Campbell's, but close, less clear, chunkier pieces of lamb and a little less taste. For the price, it's an outrage!

Overpriced and mediocre.
I must have miss read the ad. I thought I was purchasing 2 cans of the soup, not one. $13.99 for two cans would have been costly but worth it if it was exceptional, way overpriced for a single can of mediocre scotch broth.

Good Soup
I bought this following the recommendations of previous reviewers describing it as similar to Campbell's Scotch Broth. It is similar but not the same. Needed more salt but it was a pretty close facsimile of the Campbell's and found it to be a filling bowl of soup. I enjoyed it immensely and will buy this again. A little pricey in the USA but, if you've got the jones for Scotch Broth this will fill it.

Heinz Scotch Broth Soup. Delicious broth. Flavoursome, rich taste of mutton. Concentrated flavours of carrots, peas, and potato. The broth is thickened with corn flour, which really adds more depth. Bits of carrot and potatoes; lots of pearls of barley; about 2 or 3 small pieces of mutton. No artificial preservatives or colour. Heinz Scotch Broth is fabulous. A real treat. The tins of soup arrived within 7 days of the order date, from UK to Canada. They came by DHL, from British Essentials. 30% customs duty due. The tins were individually wrapped in bubble wrap. They're in perfect condition. Excellent.

Way too expensive for soup, even from England and really didn't taste the same as Campbell's.

Bought this after being unable to purchase Campbell's Scotch Broth soup in North America. Unfortunately, this was not quite the same as Campbell's condensed version. This Heinz variety, pardon the pun, is not seemingly condensed, and just pours into your saucepan for reheating. No need to add water. Unfortunately the end product is a thick broth, not so much a typical soup, and way thicker than what folks might be used to with Campbell's. I had to add a third of a can of water to dilute it and bring it to more of the soup consistency I was expecting. Surprisingly, adding water didn't seem to impact the taste much. Taste was okay, and certainly reminiscent of the muttony deliciousness of my old favourite. I don't think I'd bother ordering again. I'll put my time and effort into lobbying Campbell's to bring back Scotch Broth.

I am sorry but the taste didn't even come close to Campbells' version (wish they still made it)
