Useful but full of errors
Overall the book is useful, but I have found a number of errors. Most of them are fairly innocuous, but they are quite distracting and definitely not ideal for someone who wants to learn accurate information. I am trained as a chemist so the chemistry and math aspects are where I notice the errors. Example: the chemical formula MA (composed of a metal and a counterion) is described as "where M is the metal and A is the salt" - this is incorrect. MA together is the salt.Positive: Lots of useful graphics. Fairly approachable. Will you give you a lot of exposure to terminology and techniques without forcing a lot of math down your throat.Negative: Errors. Various missing words that make sentences confusing. Using terms that have not been explained yet. Organization is a little bit chaotic. Overall the book needs some more editing.

Not that useful for DIY
Not that helpful for a FIY plating operation. Most of the chemicals are expensive when purchased as listed but there is little or no mention of DIY alternatives using common household products. Long story short, the person buying this book probably wants low cost plating options. This book doesn't offer much.

Great Book
This is not for the beginner as it not a step by step how to, but a lot of great information on the set up and process of electroplating. This is a great resource for anyone interested in home workshop plating.

Great on the basics, everything can be done in a garden shed.
It's a great book for someone just starting and I enjoy it - really demystified it all.
