An ideal all-around utility cord in the field, the type III commercial paracord is tough and long lasting. The cord is made of 550-pound test nylon and features a seven-strand core for maximum strength. Measuring 5/32 inches in diameter, the paracord is manufactured in the United States. This paracord is available in a variety of lengths and colors.

I would recommend that any vendor selling product from Paracord Planet spot ...
Not really a problem by the vendor, but more with Paracord Planet. This is the 2nd bag of cord I received that was way short: only 43 feet when it should have been 50. Length matters when you need a certain amount for a project. I would recommend that any vendor selling product from Paracord Planet spot check (do a little quality control) this manufacturer's product. If it were only a few inches short, probably not a big deal. But 7 feet short? That's almost 20%! How hard is it to measure 50 feet?

Not up to military specifications
This crap is definitely not up to military specifications. Only 2 strands per yarn in each of the internal threads. Not only that, the sheath is cheap and thin. No way I'd use this for anything important. It's fine if you're using it for something purely cosmetic, or something that doesn't need to be under any kind of load, but the misleading advertising is dishonest and dangerous. If they were honest about what they're selling, it could be a 4 or 5, but claiming to sell 550 cord that can't actually support 550lbs of weight could get someone killed.

It's okay to say I "love" rope right?
I guess it's weird to say "I love it" over what is basically some rope. But what rope it is! Paracord is a modern day miracle in terms of it's usefulness and I have a giant 1000ft spool in my garage. Recently I started playing around with making different types of weaves and knots for lanyards on things like knives, machetes, etc.. so I started ordering some "fancy" colors just to break up the monotony. The seller got my order here extremely quickly and it was just as advertised in the photos. The ends were not frayed but melted together, and the cuts look good enough that they probably have a line cutter that just melts through the line and cuts and seals it in one go. Others have complained about internal knots and fraying and getting less than the ordered length but I didn't experience any of that. Now, I'm not a paracord expert but based on what I know this particular designation is supposed to have 7 internal nylon strands and low and behold when I cut a length of the mainline....7 internal strands (see photo)! As for what these strands look like, to me it looks like two smaller strands woven together whether or not that has anything to do with the Type III designation I don't know. I also haven't stress tested these in terms of weight, and I don't know what the 550lb designation really means but I suspect it's what is referred to as "static" load rather than a "dynamic" load. Basically just weight being held up versus swinging around etc. Regardless, this stuff is more than plenty strong for what I do with it. Usually I use it for putting up tarps, camping, lashing things to the roof of my car (X-mas trees, furniture heading to goodwill, etc..) and I have the utmost confidence in this stuff, it's tough as nails. Also have been getting decorative with my knives so you can see the included photo of a lanyard I made with the "orange" color and some of the neon yellow spool I have in my garage. I will say that the color is a bit darker than in the photo but that's probably just a variance in exposures of the photo. Overall great product.I try to make my reviews useful and engaging. Strong, easy to work with
After buying a paracord braided leash for my dog at a local fair, I decided to make a long tie out for to use in our motorhome. I purchased the black and neon green in 50ft lengths, cut them in half and used a common 4 cord braid to make the tie out, it ended up being about 23ft long. I put rings at various intervals to make the tie out easily adjustable. This cord is not quite as soft as the cord used for the leash I bought from the vendor, but it's really strong, it was easy to work with, and best of all stuff like pine needles, leaves, small twigs etc don't get stuck to it like the nylon rope we were using. When we were out last time the tie out got very muddy, but after quick dunking in some soapy water; it was good as new and dried quickly also.I would buy this cord from this vendor again.

25 feet ordered is short.
The cord is fine for my intended use. I ordered 25 feet and wanted to make 5, 5 foot pieces. It's 5 inches short of 25 feet. Significant shortage for such a length. I will not order from Built For Survival again.

prevented us from sailing into the bay and inevitably drowning in our tent.
The squall developed the night before off the Gulf coast right as we were setting up camp at the Pearl Bay chickee in the Everglades back-country. We didn't know it, but it had already dropped a twister on Flamingo, the camp site we had set out from just a couple days earlier, knocking out power the whole time we were gone. By the time we had the tent set up there were white caps on the bay and we hadn't seen a soul all day. We had no radio and no way to signal for help so we downed the last of our whiskey and prepared for a wild night of terrifying weather. About the middle of the night the winds became so strong they started collapsing the tent and eventually became strong enough to begin scooting the tent with 2 occupants towards the edge of the chickee since there was no way to stake it out. I was able to use the paracord to lash our tent to the deck of the chickee to prevent us from sailing into the bay and inevitably drowning in our tent.

Great for Creating So Many Things
Paracord is awesome! If you have any type of a crafty side to you or if you know someone who does, then Paracord is an item that can be transformed into so many different things. With the Paracord and a little ingenuity or access to YouTube, bracelets, key chains, belts, dog collars, necklaces, pouches, and many more can be created with this stuff. The quality of the cord from Outdoor Bunker is just as good as you would expect and they have a multitude of colors from which to choose. I bought this color and about six others for a cub scout camping trip where we took wooden dowels purchased at Lowe's, drilled holes in one end and then inserted, braided and twisted the Paracord to make handles for them, transforming the combination into hiking sticks. This was a great craft for the boys and their siblings. The Paracord was a hit. Especially since it is available in such a wide array of colors. I am copying and pasting this review to the other colors that I bought because the comments and feelings about the product are the same for all of the colors that I purchased.
