The Neverglades: Volume One

I love the stories of the glade. So imaginative, so creative. The inspector is a great character. Harrigan is as brave as I could never be. Hale, Harrigan!

Great book worth the read. Gives off old b&w detective with jazz in the background vibes!

This is an imaginative horror story that kept me reading to find out how the main characters were going to conquer the monster of the week and not all monsters are non-humans as the story evolves. The beginning chapters read like short stories as Det. Mark Hannigan works with the mysterious Inspector to battle individual monsters who have slipped through a rip in reality. The last part of the book’s chapters flows together making for a compelling plot. Questions about who the Inspector is are answered and his interactions with humans affects him in a positive way starting with his friendship with Mark. What I liked the best was getting to know the characters and their loyalty and connections with each other. No cliffhangers and the story continues onto the next book.

Okay, I'm hooked. This was a well-realized story with a unique set of characters in a wildly improbable (maybe) setting. Posed as a police procedural/mystery with an otherworldly twist. Each chapter in this first volume delves deeper into strange occurrences that are affecting life in the Neverglades. Thoroughly enjoyed it - makes for a great read!

This book reminded me of The Twilight Zone, but gentler somehow. It was a fun, easy read and just what I needed to pique my curiosity. Original short plots and I liked how it ended. I plan to look into the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. It had well developed characters. A great storyline. There was some swearing, but it wasn't a lot. It didn't bother me. It's a great sci-fi book. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I’m not one for science fiction, but this book grabbed my attention & held onto it until the words on the page is started to blur. I let my eyes rest and went back to reading. My Kindle tells me I have 2% left before it stops.

...You get all that in one neat package. Each of the stories is unique and nail biting, and the larger arc story weaves its way through. I loved the characters, Inspector and Mark, and their partnership is well balanced. I can't wait for the next book.
