Seems to be durable thick plastic with color molded in: a scratch doesn't remove the color. Perfect size to sit on an indoor window ledge with mini-blinds, and it looks good in an understated minimalist way. Nice that since it has no drain holes, it doesn't make a mess or require creating a drip tray. Lifting one end gives me a sense of how wet/dry the soil is... or I can stick my finger in the dirt, LOL. I'm pleased with the product for my purpose and goals.

I purchased these for a church floral project, and they worked out perfectly! These planters are heavy plastic and very sturdy. They are somewhat narrow, but a block of floral foam almost fits perfectly inserted on its side with minimal shaving, and as you can see, they hold quite a lot of flowers! The only drawback is that watering the flowers can be a bit tedious, but a spray bottle was useful in accomplishing that task. All in all, we were very pleased with them!

I love the look of this, it is not flimsey but there was a hairline crack in it on ine of the long sides. If an insert had been placed in the center it may have prevented that but with the way shippers handle packages, who knows.I put a pice of white duck tape on the inside to help firm it up, filled it with styrofoam and inserted boxwood sprigs.
