Versatile, smart layout, top-quality materials, ultra-comfy harness.
Size: L/XL Blue I purchased this pack prior to a trip to Kona, Hawaii for a big vacation. I wanted a pack to double as carry-on and a daily adventure pack to carry food, water, a full-frame mirrorless camera, lenses, and accessories. This pack has pretty much the perfect amount of room and accessibility for a loaded-up day adventure or an overnight ultra-light camp. The Y zipper system is awesome. I can access the bottom of the pack easily with the vertical duffle-style zipper and access the top even easier with the rip open lid. I'm 6'2, 300lbs with a very-long torso. The pack looks like a small school pack on me versus an average human but it's extremely comfortable and one of the only packs this size I've tried that sits pretty much perfectly on my spine. The harness system is top-tier. I've never felt a better one on this size of pack. It contours under your arms perfectly causing no binding when moving your arms. With a normal size person it would be helpful to add an aftermarket padded hip belt if you're going to use this as an overnight pack with 35+ lbs. For me, I don't think I'll ever put a hip belt on because it's very comfortable with a typical day's gear. The bare webbing belt that came with the pack isn't of any use to me. I'm also going to use this pack for scouting/hunting when I do not need my bigger pack for potential meat hauling. It will easily fit my 3L water bladder and all of my optics kit and tripod. The exterior water bottle pockets are perfect for holding a big tripod in conjunction with the compression straps. You could also put a typical .22LR rifle on the side in a similar fashion. With the PALS webbing loops on the exterior and bottom you can easily add some more versatility like a rifle butt sling or you could easily strap a sleep pad to the bottom. Overall I'm excited to get as much use out of this pack as I can in a large-variety of circumstances. I believe this is the best/most versatile pack of it's size on the market.

Great multipurpose bag
I have personally purchased a few of these bags to use for all purposes from camping, travel, and simple overnight or work commute bags. I highly recommend them! The Mystery Ranch 2-Day Assault Pack is a compact yet highly capable pack that strikes a perfect balance between everyday utility and rugged field performance. Its signature Tri-Zip design makes access effortless, allowing you to open it top-loader style or peel it wide like a duffel for quick gear organization. Built from durable 500D Cordura with sturdy YKK zippers, it’s tough enough for outdoor adventures yet refined enough for commuting or travel. The adjustable harness and padded straps carry weight comfortably, while MOLLE webbing and multiple compartments keep gear secure and customizable. Versatile, durable, and smartly designed, it’s an outstanding pack for anyone who values efficiency and reliability in all environments.

Great quality and comfort
I've only used this pack once so far, so this is my first take on this pack. To start out with, the pack is very adjustable and comfortable. The shoulder straps have a good amount of lightweight and breathable cushion in them. If like a low sitting pack then you can adjust it to do so. If you prefer it higher up on your back then you can also do that too. I was unaware before the purchase about the ridged back piece built into the pack that maintains the form of the pack. This was a nice surprise and also adds as more back support in my opinion. There is a good amount of room and internal pockets in this thing, with plenty of attachment points if that's what you're into. I'm really digging the weather proof zipper system and how you can unzip just the top or unzip the entire bag down the center gaining access to everything. It's very unique compared to what I'm used to. I love the look of it and the fact that it will allow less water from seeping through the zipper portion of the pack. Last thoughts... If you're looking for a practical, comfortable and somewhat tactical looking pack either for an outdoor pack or a bug out bag then this a great option. This hits all the notes that I've been personally wanting in a backpack and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait for the test of time to show just how good this pack holds together. If you're not absolutely hurting on money then pull the trigger and get it.

Perfect bug out bag
Really solid bag. You get what you pay for. Very high quality materials. Good zippers. Lots of space inside to store stuff. Has an adjustable back piece that you can set for better comfort. Not too big. Perfect bug out bag IMO

Great Day Pack
Great quality backpack from a durable brand. The size is ideal for carry on when flying, daily use, ease of access with a laptop. Compartments make it highly versatile. The olive drab is color is a great flexible style. The zippers and magnets are great. Had this nearly two years and never had an Issue.

Best pack I've had.
It's light weight and has a small profile, yet feels very durable. It reminds me of some of the gear I had back in the day (tm) when I was in the Army; milspec quality stuff. The options for adjustments are perfect allowing me to get a great fit and seated perfectly along my back and shoulders, I hate packs that hang low because that unsettling center of gravity gets tiring after a while. On the other hand it is easy to adjust the straps on the move which is nice because if anyone has ever worn a pack for an extended period of time, then you know how nice it is to loosen, tighten, and switch to sling mode here and there to help free up spots on your back that get too hot over time because even with breathable material like that present on this pack, the bottom line is that there is still weight pushing material along your back and you will still get hot depending on how long you wear the pack. The primary harnesses are thick and comfortable, even when I loaded the pack for weight I didn't feel anything digging into my shoulders. I'm used to seeing red marks on my shoulders with other packs and this comfort is something I'm not used to. It's about impossible to classify anything with a zipper as water proof but with this zipper design, I don't think it can be any closer, or better. == Capacity == Before looking at capacity, it is important to note that most of the time, pack capacity is measured by the outer dimensions of the pack and the actual capacity is often much different. I prefer a smaller, low profile pack and I rarely use the full capacity so that I can be lighter and more mobile but some people like to carry everything so I measured the capacity of this pack using a more practical method. Though the pack has a listed capacity of 27 liters when measuring total volume. If you are hauling clothes only, then I guess you could squeeze in a total of about 27 liters but in reality, items placed in a pack don't fit together perfectly in a way that lets you use every last ML of space. I used 20oz water bottles which when converted to liters is equal to 591 ML per bottle. This is also the standard size of a small soda bottle. Using this method, I was able to get 21 bottles in the alpha storage area and 3 more in the larger of the two top pockets for a total of 24 or 14.1 liters, much less than the 27 liters advertised. This was a snug fit for the bottles and without using the compression straps. I placed the bottles in a manner that would allow me to put as many of them in the pack as possible. However there are also two external side pockets both of which are large enough to fit 2 additional bottles each for an additional 4 bottles total and an adjusted total capacity of 16.5 Liters. This of course does not include items that you might attach to the molle. The "laptop pocket" will fit either a 15" laptop or a flat hydration bottle but not both. Since there is a side zipper that can be used to access the laptop pocket, you could also fit a handgun in there easily as long as it is not holstered and it can be reached without opening the main pack area. This shouldn't be too surprising though since it's advertised as a tactical pack. Though a 17" laptop will not fit in the laptop pocket, it will fit awkwardly within the main cargo area. I have a beefy Alienware 17" laptop with dimensions that exceed 17" and was able to easily fit it within the main section of the pack, but I think you would need a protective sleeve for your 17" laptop because despite the low weight of the pack, the netted pockets within it are quite heavy duty and somewhat abrasive. You could however fit the brick with cord in the laptop pocket unless of course you were going for battery power only.

Amazing quality backpack, I DID NOT RECEIVE THE PROPER COLOR which did upset me but I had some hiking trails a few days after I got it. The adjustable harness is pretty easy to use, I’m 6’5 so the waist belt sits a little high on my waist, durable zippers that takes a little force to zip up which means no accidental openings, the water bottle pockets can fit 2 individual 1 liter smart water in one pocket. Dual water bottle pockets are big on the inside of the bag which can add more items/storage. There’s a loop in the laptop compartment where you can add a hydration bladder if needed but it would be a little better if it came with a universal attachment for other hydration bladders, the mystery ranch bladder comes with a hook on it, the hose will come out of the zipper that allows quick access to that compartment. The style of the Y zipper opening is pretty useful to open it all the way or you can just pull the top open real fast to open the main top compartment.
