Can I use this material to transport a hot silencer?

Would this work to place under my gas fire pit on a composite deck? It is recommend that some sort of fire rated mat should be used.

Update to my previous post. The blanket still has not burned our singed under my fire pit placed on my concrete patio - BUT the square piece of plywood I stapled the welding blanket to still burned through and left a large burn mark on my white unpainted concrete. So while the blanket is fine and did not burn it does not work to prevent the wooden board underneath from burning. Here are the important details: the legs of my fire pit are only 4” off the ground and the board I used was a 3/4” thick piece of plywood. I staple gunned the welding blanket to the board. The board burned through after my 4th fire. Again, not the products fault. It’s not meant for how I used it. But if you wanted it to work for a job like I was trying it for it is not effective.

Can this material be touching something that hot for long periods of time? I want to make a new stove jack for my tent. It will be touching the chimne

I would not suggest it as this is felt. You need a more rigid material for a stove jack. In time the felt fibers would be smashed away from the pipe during wind n such. Might i suggest a siliconized glass mat for the jack and a silicone gasket for the pipe hole.

Can I use this indoors near my fireplace to prevent any embers or logs from spilling onto my carpet?

It would probably work for small embers. Anything larger will pinch and crush the blanket at the point of contact and reduce its thermal properties. Use at own risk. Not a professional opinion.
