I do a lot of music notation on staff paper with pencil. It's important to me to have a sharp pencil with a long lead tip. I use it so much that I decided to spoil myself. it's a tool that I use for work so I can justify it. It looks so nice on my desk that it makes me feel rewarded, and sharpening my pencils is a pleasure. Everyone's situation is different, and many brands of sharpeners will work for several hundred dollars less, but for some of use, this is a luxury.

If you're hesitating whether to buy this product or not, you don't deserve it. If qualified, this product will exist as a great tool to walk you through a new world. The delivery was great and the packaging was perfect. The appropriate luxurious packaging, as if opening an Apple product, provides appropriate satisfaction to customers without exaggerating pencil sharpeners or showing off too much luxury.

It strips the side paint off of your pencils and gouges the sides up so it's uncomfortable to hold. I destroyed three $11.00 each Japanese pencils trying to get this piece of garbage to work. Totally insulting that it's advertised as "The Rolls Royce of pencil sharpeners" and it's really just junk that doesn't work. Save your money.

My sharpener does a great job of sharpening pencils. However, a few things keep this from being a great product. The collet that holds the pencil has a burr in it. This burr digs into the pencil as it is being sharpened and leaves an ugly scrape that goes through the paint on the pencil. I was able to file the burr and improve it somewhat. The drawer that collects the shavings was bent and had to be straightened. The edge of the drawer is supposed to have a rough edge to allow you to further sharpen the pencil lead. The edge on mine is so smooth it does nothing. You'll need some sandpaper to finish your pencil. Finally, the rubber material used for the base leaves a black mark on my counter top. It requires cleaner such as Simple Green to remove. But, did I mention the great job of sharpening this thing does!! With a little more attention to detail this could be an excellent sharpener.

Great design - excellent look with the very best of materials and workmanship at a reasonable price.

Overpriced, a decent enough point for writing, but not for drawing. Better to go with the far less expensive Dahle 133 and modify it (about a minute of work) for an unbeatable point.

Best Pencil sharpener in the world, very nice! It is more of a sculpture then a tool, beautiful even when not at work...

Pocas veces he tenido entre mis manos un objeto que, al examinarlo por primera vez, me sorprendiese tan gratamente como éste afilalápices. No sólo sorprende, es más, emociona. Resulta difícil describir la agradable sensación que transmiten sus formas, limpias y de diseño clásico, así como la calidad de unos materiales que parecen haber quedado impregnados del mimo con el que el afilalápices ha sido fabricado. Al cogerlo, sientes que tienes en tus manos una pieza especial. Sinceramente, he tardado muchos años en adquirirlo. Ahora que lo poseo, sé que he invertido en algo más que un buen afilalápices, que también lo es.

Es un artículo de lujo, por lo tanto es inadmisible que el control de calidad deje pasar cosas como lo que a mi me ha llegado. El sistema de rodamiento y ruedas dentadas venia defectuoso de tal manera que no llegaba a completar una vuelta sin atascarse (sin lápiz). Abro y extraigo el mecanismo para ver cual era el atasco y si habia que apretar/soltar la tornillería, y me encuentro unas ruedas dentadas en las cuchillas con rebabas y holguras de un nivel que no me esperaria ni de un producto de todo a 100. No voy a sacar una lima y ajustar un mecanismo de este precio, asi que inmediatamente de vuelta a la caja e inicio la devolucion. Eso si, un 10 para el sistema de devoluciones de amazon. Eso si, estoy segura de que si me hubiera llegado uno no defectuoso estaria contentisima. La construccion es hermosa y solida. El sistema de ventosa que no me daba confianza es una maravilla. SI DECIDEN ARRIESGARSE HAY QUE PROBARLO INMEDIATAMENTE, Y REVISAR EL RODAMIENTO SACANDO EL MECANISMO. Si lo hubiera regalado sin sacarlo de la caja hubiera sido el desastre. El desastre carísimo. Por cierto, acabo de comprobar que le han subido el precio en preparacion de la campaña navideña.
