Type 41101 Police Light Flashlight (reinforced)

Now I have to call Amazon again to get my credit for the delivery today. Why does this always happen to returns? Nobody follows through with their job…WTH???

I have purchased a few of these for my vehicles and home. I carry one when I take my dog for walks. I had a couple of stray dogs come up to us one day on a walk and all I had to do was push the button on the stun part to create the electrical sound that repelled them. I also like the fact it can be used as a small hand weapon to protect myself. I don't understand why some complain about no instructions when it seems like it's pretty obvious how to operate it. I have had my flashlights for over a couple of years now and have not experienced any problems. Well worth the money and peace of mind.

I already have one of these flashlights. This new one is damaged. The lens is scratched and the light is not as brilliant and the stun gun only works on one side. I want want to return this item.

This unit is simple, so simple they feel you don't need REAL instructions. You have to assume, even though the plugs end is polarized (has a notch in the cord end), it may be put in either way because the base has nothing there to keep you from putting it in wrong. One pin is smaller, but that makes no difference because the plugs holes are the same size. There's no way to determine whether or not it's charged...the slip just says 10 hours before you first use it, but nothing after that. It doesn't say if the red LED will flash / go off / or starts to smell like cheese (you have to remember when you plugged it in and count ten on your watch). The outlet prongs are not polarized, so you can pretty much figure it can go in either way (who started that "one way" plug BS years ago anyway, it was stupid and gained nothing, 'cause now they've stopped making them?). If you don't hoard the box or keep the instructions somewhere...years later you don't have a tutorial. Instead of printing POLICE on light...how about 10 HR CHG, it's only one letter more.

On some other sites, it was stated that there was a "Key Switch Safety". As can be seen here, it's a Slide switch. Much better in my opinion. Imagine having to use a key to activate the stun function while being attacked! I like the dual safety system employed here instead. 1. You must flip the tail switch to the on position. 2. Then pull the light/stun switch backward. NOW the Stun Function is ARMED. Push the stun button to activate. While the switch is in the off or flashlight position, THE STUN FUNCTION IS DISABLED. One thing I LOVE about this stun light is the fact that after you turn the stun function OFF, IT DOESN'T HOLD A RESIDUAL CHARGE. (MANY others do. Which means that even though they are turned off, touching the probes WILL STILL GIVE YOU A STATIC ELECTRIC SHOCK! THIS one DOESN'T!) WARNING: NEVER SHINE THE LIGHT IN YOUR EYES OR ANYONE ELSE'S, UNLESS THEY ARE A THREAT! THIS WILL CAUSE TEMPORARY BLINDNESS, AND COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE RETINAS.I gave this a 4 Star Rating, because I have one concern: The battery pack does not appear to be replaceable.

I’ve had it plugged in for 24 hours(after checking after 10 hours) and the charge light stays red when I pull it off the cord the light stays on for.5 seconds then dies. This is a piece of crap I’m trying to figure out how to take it apart.

The media could not be loaded. Insufficient instructions. Had to assume that the switch near the charging port is for the stun gun activation. Instructions say to charge for 10 hours. Red light comes on when connecting charger initially. Red light changes to Green, and you have to assume that the flashlight is fully charged. But with the stun gun activation switch on, and pushing what's assumed to be the stun gun activation switch, and less than 10 hours charge but with a green light, I could not get my stun gun to activate on a wet paper towel. So now I'm going to leave the micro USB charging cord connected for the 10 hours to see if I can get the stun gun to work.
