Great product that gives peace of mind.
I bought this after my mother-in-law's house was extensively damaged when a second floor toilet broke and flooded the bathroom and rooms below. She was home at the time but unable to shut off the water and had to call for help, which took several hours to come. The WaterCop works great in my home. I have a 2 story house with the WaterCop shutoff valve in the basement and the valve shuts off reliably from bathrooms on the second floor. So far I havn't had a real problem but a couple of times guests splashed water from the shower in the guest bathroom and the WaterCop shut off the main water supply.I installed a WaterCop remote switch unit near one of the exits from my house so we can also easily shut off the water when we leave, although we don't usually do that. My wife can easily turn the water back on from the switch without going into the basement.

Water Hound
I have been using this product for approximately 10 years and have 7 Water Hound units in my house. The negatives are: 1) battery life too short and need replacing every 3 months or so, 2) Newer units do not indicate activity. The older units blinked the LED periodically and allowed easy checking of the units status.

Protect your house from water overflow and flooding- it works!
This is an absolutely critical product that every house should have. You may read about units that email you or somehow contact you if there is an overflow, but if you're 100 miles away what can you do? This unit contacts a remote-controlled unit in the water pipe coming into the house and automatically turns the water off! Please note that if you have an older unit already installed you have to set the 6-7-8 dip-switches into the "up" position; when you open the unit (2 screws) to put the batteries in you'll see the dip switches right there. A prior unit detected an overflow in our laundry room and worked like a champ!

Flood sensor
The newer units have a shorter battery life than original without the ac adaptor port.

Hopefully I will never need it but its good insurance.
I bought this because I needed an extra unit. I tested it and it sent the signal to the controller. Hopefully I will never need it but its good insurance.

Little investment for the value of saving your house from flooding
This product is simple and works just like advertised. Water hits the sensor and your water main shuts down. Fantastic product that every house should have.
