First time wrapping and did a sloppy job but they are pretty great! Feels nice while riding and is exactly what you’d expect. They aren’t super grippy, they’re more like foam but I personally like it. Pretty simple install and had enough for my 38cm handlebars. Did a figure 8 around the head, but if you have a longer handlebar, you can use the foam thing they give you so you don’t have to do a figure 8.

Positives How much cushion or grip a rider wants is all personal preference, so I don't think it is fair to take off too many stars for comfort. What really impressed me is that the package came with everything I needed to re-wrap the drop bars on my Giant Anyroad and get really professional-looking results on my first attempt at doing this. Overlapping 1/2 width with the adhesive just contacting the metal bar, and going around-and-under to reverse the wrap on the tops instead of doing a full figure-8, I had plenty of length to complete the job with maybe 6-10 inches to spare on each side. Then you plug the bar ends and finish off the tops with the little strips of finishing tape they give you, and if you took your time and kept tension, it'll look like you paid a bike shop to do it for you. I highly, highly recommend watching some videos on how to wrap your bars, and maybe practicing with a piece of your old bar tape after you remove it to get a feel for how it works. I'll say that the finishing tape is a bit on the short-side... maybe 1 1/2 wraps is all you get. I would prefer a bit more, so I used the provided finishing tape first and then did a couple wraps of electrical tape on top of it. Certainly not enough to remove stars, but if you are doing this regularly you may want to buy a roll of actual bar-finishing tape since the short little pieces seem to be a common complaint. Negatives I used this tape to replace the factory grip tape on a Giant Anyroad. The factory tape had been removed and rewrapped a few times for repairs and maintenance, and was starting to come off. While the SRAM tape is durable and looks fantastic, it wasn't nearly as grippy nor did it have as much cushion as the OEM wrap (which had lasted a couple thousand miles). I had considerably more hand fatigue on long rides with the SRAM tape, even with my standard Giro gel-padded cycling gloves. I don't plan on changing it, but I don't love it as much. The price also seems to fluctuate on this a lot, sometimes doubling in price from day-to-day. At $9 I thought it was a steal. At $18 (two days later) I think there are better tapes available.

My experience with this product comes from wrapping a 44cm road handlebar that was padded on the top section with some Fi'zi:k gel pads. I had just enough tape to complete the wrap. Before installing I measured the tape and it was 79" or 200.66cm long. I tried to maintain an overlap of about half of the width of the tape. As others have commented this tape is very forgiving so rewraps are easy if you're not happy with your first attempt. I wrapped my bars with a fair amount of tension and the tape was strong enough not to break as others have done. Tensioning the tape is important because the adhesive on the back of the tape is not intended for holding its place on the bar permanently. It just makes installation easier. I finish off the wrap with several revolutions of electrical tape. I throw the finishing tape away because it's not flexible and the tape is not flat. Some have complained that this tape gets dirty easily. This is true because the tape has a porous surface but the problem is manageable. First, I've learned to ride with clean gloves. After every ride, I rinse the gloves off and if they look really grungy, I put the gloves on and wash my hands with hand soap (the foaming kind usually). The first time I did this with some gloves I been using for a couple of years, the water was a dark brown and it took several washings before the water looked reasonably clean. Second, at least every 2-3 rides (during the summer, every other ride), I spray the handlebars with a solution of laundry soap I then wrap a clean rag around the handlebar and pull the ends of the rag back and forth to scrub the bar. A spray bottle with water or a wet rag finishes the job. I just let the tape air dry. Another benefit of keeping your handlebars and gloves clean is that if you're eating during a ride, you're less likely to ingest some really nasty germs. All in all, this tape is a real bargain. It's reasonably priced and very comfortable for long rides. Because it's so forgiving even those new to wrapping handlebars can do a proper job as many reviews of this product attest. I can see no reason why I shouldn't standardize on this tape for all my rides.

Recently I picked up an old red Schwinn touring bike for almost nothing at a pawn shop. It was basically intact, only needing a lot of cleaning, but it had cheap hot pink foam bar tape that really needed to go. The local bike shop wanted more than what I paid for the bike to install their average quality cork tape, so I decided to do it myself. First, I studied several YouTube videos and learned how bike mechanics install the tape. FYI, not all mechanics agree on a "best" way, so you'll have to watch and decide what works best for you. Also, there are several "tricks" to know in order to a good installation, but they are simple to learn. Next, I studied reviews for at least twenty brands of bar tape on Amazon. The SRAM Supercork Bicycle Bar Tape got good reviews on price, quality and ease of installation, so I ordered a package of the black tape through Amazon Prime. After cleaning the old adhesive gunk from the previous tape off the handlebars using solvent and #0000 steel wool, I wrapped the tape as instructed in the YouTube videos. Fortunately, I got bot sides right on the first try. Several times I had to unwrap and re-wrap a few sections, but the SRAM tape is very forgiving and will allow multiple attempts of re-wrapping. The black electrical-type type included for sealing the final wrap is not any good and should be discarded. Instead, you should use quality electrical tape in its place. As far as functionality is concerned, I think this is hands-down the best bar tape I have ever encountered. It has a really positive, engaging feel to it. The extra thickness in the center line of the tape forms ridges (when properly wrapped) that make the handlebars really easy to grip. Unless there is some major unexpected failure with this product, I see no reason to use anything but SRAM tape on my bikes from now on. If there IS a failure, I will report it in an updated review. One unexpected surprise: The end plugs shipped with the tape are no longer ordinary-looking black plastic. Now they are highly-reflective, red and white caps that feature the "S" logo. Unlike many handlebar plugs I have owned (and lost), these plugs will NOT fall out.

This is a well cushioned tape, which works well if you want a bit more isolation from road vibration or want a slightly larger bar diameter for comfort that the thinner variety. The colour selection is excellent. This tape does have a very thin section of 'adhesive' so you have to remove the paper covering it. If you have not applied tape before, be aware that the more adhesive there is, the more difficult it is to apply - you have to stretch it before putting it on the surface of the bar. This tape does not adhere that well - which is good. If I did not have electrical tape handy (But would have to pick up the roll and get the tape started) the SRAM bar tape would come 'unstuck' a turn or two - making it very simply to reapply it, cut and tape the ends down. Because the adhesive is light on this tape, you can stretch it while on the bar - which makes it easier for me to apply it in an even spiral. I sometimes mix the colour of the tape on my bars, with the drops being one colour and the top another - which gives a much different and custom look. (You can also braid the tape - look on Youtube for direction). I really like using the SRAM tape for this as its stretchy and relatively inexpensive. And, it holds up well since since its a synthetic cork tape - which can easily be cleaned.

I've used EVA foam tape for many many years, and SRAM EVA foam tape for the past 10+ years. Many may like fancier or different types of bar tape (Lizard Skins, Fizix, etc) but I've always preferred EVA foam for its feel, grip, looks, ease of installation, and reasonable durability. I read some of the on star reviews and most were under a misapprehension of what bar tape is supposed to be and how to install it. It's not adhesive tape, and some isn't adhesive at all. The narrow, mildly tacky adhesive strip on this tape functions to help hold it in place but not fasten it to the bar. The supplied end plugs fasten the tape at the bar end, and adhesive tape (the supplied strips or better, good quality electrical tape) is used to fasten the tape where it ends near the stem. How much each turn is overlapped can vary, but generally it's around 1/4-1/3 the width of the tape. There are many good vids on-line that show how to properly install bar tape.

I bought this handlebar tape in red to replace the stock tape on my bike, which was thin and only slightly improved upon the shock absorption of naked aluminum. Taking it out of the package, it looked a bit thicker, but it didn't seem like a huge improvement over what I had. I decided to remove the old tape and wrap my bars with this stuff anyway, and I was surprised to discover what a difference it made. The difference in cushioning and shock absorption was immediately noticeable as soon as I started to ride. A few things of note: - This stuff looks and feels a lot like some types of refrigeration foam tape. It has a good amount of stretch to it, which helps it keep tension as it is wrapped and allows you to adjust the amount of cushioning you would like. If you want a little more road feel and a bit less cushioning, you can pull it a bit tighter and that should do the job. - The adhesive on the back is not strong, and isn't really meant to be. It is there to help hold the tape in position as you wrap it and to provide a guide to indicate how much overlap you need. If you are expecting it to hold in place when you take your hands off, you are likely to be disappointed. When you complete your wrapping, your bar end caps and some finishing tape will hold this in position long term. - This tape was more than enough for the bullhorn handlebars on my bike. Some drop handlebars might require some extra care in wrapping them to make sure the tape covers it all, but these rolls seemed to hold a generous amount of material. - I sweat a lot when I ride and this tape has not shown any signs of getting slippery when wet. I haven't ridden in a rain storm yet, but I don't expect that to be any different.

Habe statt der mitgelieferten Klebestreifen Isolierband benutzt und weiß deshalb leider nicht ob die Klebestreifen gut sind oder nicht. Sind alles sehr gut! Klebt gut, sieht gut aus, Länge ist super ( 20-30cm mehr als ich bräuchte) und fasst sich gut an. Würde sagen die Farbe ist ein kleines bisschen heller als auf dem Bild.

This is a great product, as far as I can tell. I haven't had it for long, so I can't say much about longevity, and I bought "black", so I can't say anything about how dirty it gets. This was the first time I've used bar tape, so I can't compare it to any other brand. I can say that it seemed to be a generous amount, as I have touring (or "butterfly") handlebars and there was enough for the entire grippable surface (i.e. I didn't need to use separate handlebars on the flat parts of the bar). I didn't wrap it tight enough or evenly enough the first time, but it was VERY easy to take off and re-wrap, because the adhesive is only slightly tacky. I still would recommend being very careful un-wrapping, but it seemed to be pretty tough and I'd be very surprised if it tore at all. It's very comfortable. If you want something really cushy, I'd go with a thicker bar tape or maybe put gel packs underneath. I wear padded gloves, and I find it comfortable enough. Also, for short rides, this tape is perfectly comfortable without gloves. As is probably true for most bar tapes, the "finishing" tape they give you didn't seem long enough, so I just used electrical tape for the ends.

Fantastico nastro per manubrio che riesce a coniugare morbidezza, ottima presa, effetto ammortizzante e bellezza estetica. Si monta con estrema facilità permettendo, qualora si dovesse sbagliare, di ripetere nuovamente la posa, anche più e più volte, in quanto la parte adesiva non è così tenace da ostacolare le manovre. Va posato tirando bene ogni singola spira per ottenere una superficie uniforme e ben aderente al manubrio. Il nastro é lungo a sufficienza e non c'è il pericolo di lasciare scoperta una parte del manubrio. Sono presenti due utili pezzi di nastro adattati a coprire lo spazio sotto le leve dei freni. Il nastro adesivo per terminare il lavoro nella parte alta del manubrio non è adatto allo scopo. Consiglio un paio di giri di nastro isolante da elettricista.
