Best paint guard ever !!
I've used this paint shield for many, many, years.I've replaced a few times do to just having a long time, someone borrowed and didn't return but not because the product was defective or broke.I tried to find in stores but no luck - not sure why - but thankfully Amazon came through!I used to paint my ceilings and walls. Great splatter control! Plastic is very sturdy and if you clean properly can be used over and over. (i seem to fail in cleaning part, i try but i seem to wait to long and it does seem hard to scrub the paint off the inside - but it will never stop me from buying this product.Weighing the clean up to the splatter control - 5 stars to splatter control!!

The perfect must have to paint ceilings
I love how it has angular options and it really protected me from droplets as I painted the ceiling better than any other roller cover I've used. I'm ordering one more so that I have an extra always. Very sturdy and durable doubt I will ever break it.

Very good, not perfect
As others have said, a dropcloth is still recommended because, since it catches the splatter very well, that paint will accumulate and drip. I was priming and painting drywall underneath a stairwell, height ranging from 2 feet to 10 feet. I received no spray on my glasses but I did see a few drips on the concrete floor. The adjustable head and an extension pole worked very well for all elevations.I worry about removing the roller, just because of the stiffness of the plastic, but I pried carefully and didn't break anything.A fringe benefit it that it makes cleanup far less messy. I normally use a jet from a garden hose nozzle to do the initial cleaning, which is fast but can be very messy if the angle is wrong while the jet is spinning the roller. With this, all that spray is either caught by the shield or spins away from you.

High quality and hard to find
I was hesitant to buy this based on some other reviews, but I'm glad that didn't stop me and here's my experience. First, it's one of the only rollers you can buy with a splatter shield (which was what I needed). It did an EXCELLENT job at that, and I (personally) did not have any issues with that splatter gathering on the guard and turning into a drip like some other's did. I can only suggest putting less paint on the roller. Which leads to my next plus which is that you CAN use 1/2" nap rollers on it. It says it's designed for 3/8", but works fine with 1/2" (and I STILL didn't have any drips). I doubt it would work with a 3/4". Because of its design (where the roller is supported on both ends with the handle in the middle) it allowed to to evenly apply the paint across the entire surface of the roller with no feathering at the edges. I've always had problems with that using a standard roller. Finally, the angle adjustment on the handle is awesome, and allowed me to easily use this on my 10" high walls. It was no harder to clean-up than any other roller; just pull the used roller cover (I don't re-use them), and either run it under water, or wait for the paint to dry and peel it off. This product is a 5 out of 5 to me, and I may buy an extra just in case anything ever happens to the first.

Good to prevent drip when painting the ceiling
The roller cover is a great idea and it really minimized dripping when painting the ceiling. It is well made and functional.I just painted my ceiling with it and my feeling is half and half.Pro:It does the job for prevent drip.Cons:Somehow the roller action is not so smooth, and the rolling action is far worst than the regular roller from home depot. I got uneven rolls as the result.I had to paint the same area extra times due to the inconsistency.I end up switching back to regular roller without the cover and it works much better.

It really works on walls and the ceiling.
I liked everything about this particular product. I painted the entire inside of my house with it, and discontinued the use of anything for spatter! It saved so much time. I had to order it online after I moved and found Home Depot and Lowes did not have it, so I ordered two from Amazon. The head rotates to accommodate walls or ceilings or loading the paint. Occasionally I stopped and took it off and just cleaned any areas on it that had accumulated too much paint... not often compared to laying down drop cloths and all that. Amazon had a lame picture of it, not showing both sides of it, or that cover rotates, or that it came with a roller cover. I used my regular extension pole with it, or you could use just about any broom handle that is threaded. Great design--it may not be perfect, but it is close!

Worked as expected
The main thing you need to know is that this will not eliminate ALL spatter, it probably stops about 90% so you will still need to cover things with a drop cloth but it really cuts down on the mess of painting the ceiling.
