Fabulous
Lovely bedtime story and the pictures are so interesting. It is different than the movie, but we liked both, and I am betting you will too. But, you don't have to take my word for it.

Great book
I had a baby and we named him Orion, so I've been on the look-out for Orion-themed things. I came across this book and decided to buy it on a whim. It turned out to be a very cute book. My 4 year old loves it. It's all about a little boy who is afraid of many things, including the dark. But, one day, the "dark" comes to life, explores some of the night-time things/noises with him, and teaches him that he doesn't need to be afraid. It's well-done and very cute. We love reading it at night before bed.

Fun, Non-threatening Story
About child afraid of things at bedtime, especially the dark. No scary illustrations or text about monsters or goblins. Just “the dark” befriending the child and helping him understand there’s nothing to fear in the dark. Fun story targeted to purpose of dispelling child’s fear of the dark.

Nice book but think first
My son really likes this book, and it's a fun read with lots of pictures and funny little details to add to the story. Like Emma Yarlett's other books, it teaches a lesson and this one is about not being afraid of the dark. My son was not afraid of the dark, but this book put lots of ideas into his active imagination about monsters, the dark, and strange noises. While I know the purpose it to make children unafraid, maybe it was coincidence, but around the time we got this book he started fussing about his dark room and monsters. While I don't think he's truly afraid of monsters, he has about 4 night lights in his room now. It didn't really help curb any possible fears. There seems to be a theme with this author's books and my children. They love the entertaining story and illustrations, but they start mimicking the negative theme such as not sharing like in Sidney and Stella, and being afraid in Orion.

If you little one is afraid of the dark…GET THIS!
Not only is the story line perfect for kids who are apprehensive about the dark, the creativity of the cutouts and the graphics in this book make it over the top! Love, love, loveeee!!

Orion and the Dark
I have long considered picture books to be the first poems our children are exposed to. The very best picture books are pure poetry, combining both figurative language and pictures to create astounding visuals for children who are just learning that words can make pictures."Orion and the Dark" is a beautiful book, imaginative and clever. Look at all the ways Orion thinks of to combat his fear of the dark, from staging protests, to keeping glow worms, to eating carrots. The Dark shows Orion first just how much his fear is misplaced and then later shows Orion just how magical and wonderful the universe can be.An excellent book, touching and sweet, and sure to be a favorite to be read again and again and again.

Wonderful
A great story for kids, whether or not they're afraid of the dark. The artwork in this story is second to none, and the way some of the pages are shaped in an unusual manner makes it a very compelling read. The story is great, and the pages are fun and colourful without being TOO busy.Highly recommended.

Good book. Definitely recommend
My kid has been having issues with the dark lately and this was one of the two books I bought here to try and deal with the scaredness. So far she loves this book and the fun little surprises in it for her to discover
