I bought these to use for lights in Halloween decorations and have already had some mixed results. They are great and convenient when they work, but the mechanism that allows the batteries to be replaced also holds the batteries against the (unsecured) LED chip and the water proof O-ring. In practice this means that the the connection between the batteries and the lights can easily be jostled out of place. This can lead to the light being dimmer than the rest or just not working. So far, stretching the spring has fixed 2 of the 3 of mine that had this issue, but I haven't found a way to get the 3rd to turn back on. I may have to add hot glue to secure the LED lower in its pocket so it connects better. These aren't difficult fixes, but if you want something that is guaranteed to work straight out of the box and to continue doing so, you may want to go with a different set. For the price and my use, however, I'd say they were worth while.

Save your money! These are the biggest waste. They are NOT waterproof at all. After one use water gets into the batteries and fries it out. Cool concept but very crappy design.

They die after first use. Not suitable for pools!!! Waste of money.

Out of the 12 only 10 worked and the batteries were sub standard. Half did not work out of the packages and most ran out of juice very quickly. Some of the balls would turn on by themselves without the remote being pressed.
