Best Bang for your Buck
This is a good looking cabinet and the price is right. The finish on the wood is pretty amazing. It's a softer wood but they've got it looking like oak here. All the pre-drilled holes lined up well for me and I wasn't shorted any hardware. Took me about 3 hours to put together by myself. There ended up being a small crack in the frame of the door. I will probably inject some glue in there at some point, but it is stable and doesn't go through to the back. The glass itself has a nice beveled edge. There were a couple of tiny dings that were touched up at the factory. The bottom double "drawer" is just one big panel that hinges down. I would buy this again.

Don’t buy!!
I absolutely would NOT recommend this gun cabinet. We’re pretty good at assembling stuff, but this was terrible. We’re going to have to buy some bolts tomorrow to finish it. The directions are vague, but it’s not hard to figure out how it goes together, but the hardware is a joke.

Very Beautiful Cabinet
Some folks have been critical of this product because it does not have the construction features of a cabinet costing 3 times what it does. When completed, my unit looks just like it was made of 1" cherry planks throughout. Yes there are some veneered fibered board pieces, the exposed surfaces are veneered and look just like sold wood. The unit is doweled, anchor bolted together and very solid when done. I am a mechanical engineer and have put many similar kinds of furniture projects together and took nearly 2 hours from start to finish. I felt the instructions were very good and descriptive, but to get the best end product you should not rush the build and will need some assistance when mounting the door as the beveled edge, laminated glass is heavy. The door and drawer locks use the same keys which is great and amply fulfill their security requirements. The box came with a dent and tear in one corner, but the cabinet parts are packaged well and protected by a bunch of styrofoam so nothing was damaged. Shipping was reasonably quick. This was a great buy for me and really showcases my rifles and shotguns as well as store my pistol ammo in the locked drawer.

Very good Product
I read all the reviews a couple of times and not knowing if I was doing the right thing ordered Leisure Products 8 Gun Cabinet. Wow I'm sure glad I did. For all you folks who don't like it, give me a break, just what do you expect in furniture for $230.00. It came packaged very well and other than one small nick in the bottom of the glass door was in great shape. Assembly was somewhat challenging, but can be accomplished by one coordinated person even if it does take 3 hrs. Everything fit together as it should, however I was a little disappointed that there wasn't two draws at the bottom instead of one panel. I know it says that in the description, I guess I just missed it. I feel that once finished it is very solid (even though some parts are particle board) and very good looking. So all in all I'm very pleased with my purchase and if your in the market to buy something to put a few guns in, look no further.Taget

Better than I expected!
I was pleasantly surprised by this cabinet, given some previous bad experiences with "boxed" furniture ordered online. If you're familiar with the process of assembling your own furniture, this is as good as it gets; if you're accustomed to craftsman-built cabinetry, you'll be disappointed.First, the bad:I'm subtracting a star because getting the glass door on the hinges simply doesn't work as described, even with a second person helping. Doing so would require balancing it precariously on top of the round hinge barrels while screwing into un-drilled wood. Believe me, we tried. To get around it, we followed the instructions up to that point, marked the position of the hinges on the door, removed the door and hinges from the cabinet, attached the hinges to the door, and put the whole assembly back onto the cabinet. As mentioned in another review, you'll definitely want to hold the top squared-up into position while someone else attaches the backing panel to hold everything in place. The unit is also quite top-heavy, even when loaded, so be sure to use the included retainer strap or another means of attaching it to the wall. Now, the good:The wood is surprisingly nice. I can't say for certain what it's made of, but it's not plastic-laminated plywood that chips and breaks. It may be a composite wood of some sort, but it is stained and nicely finished in an inoffensive medium brown. We had no problems with cracking or breaking during assembly.Second, it really does hold eight average guns. I have several scoped carbines, an AR, and a 30" over/under shotgun and they all fit with no issues. The bottom storage area (also locking) is perfect for a good stash of ammunition or accessories for the guns stored above. In summary, the assembly was straightfoward (except the door hinges mentioned above) and the results are good. The overall fit and finish is better than I expected, especially considering we couldn't find anything else in this price range for comparison. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to friends.

Very nice cabinet
I WOULD RECOMMEND this cabinet, just pay action to how you put hinges on. If it seems like the door won't shut because the lock is stopping it. Then more then likely your hinges are on backwards!!!!
