This is a very sturdy wrecking bar/chisel so I suppose it depends on how good a surface you want to leave? It will make light work of breaking up thin set mortar but I wouldn’t use it as a scraper.

How does this work? I need to break a potting hole in concrete floor. Do you have to hammer it into the ground?

Hi, it's all manual labour. The chisel point helps with leverage and the pointed end is quite sturdy, but I would start the hole with an SDS drill and chisel bit before breaking up the rest. The bar is strong and I've used mine to remove several very large tree stumps, up to 1 metre across. It hasn't bent yet.

Brilliant  for this. Far more effective and precise than a Pick and less fuss than a Hammer and Chisel. This really is a useful tool for any excavating or breaking, especially uprooting Tree Stumps.The only 'Con' being it is heavy and it comes with a very effective point.Both of these aspects though truly reward sensible application as the weight means simply lifting and dropping the Bar can do a lot of the Work and the 'Point' complements the 'Chisel' end in how both Cut / Chip.
I found my  Bar to be a real Game changer in clearing my Garden and was a great investment !
