Sealed and essentially scented
Felt compelled to write a review as a few I read mentioned concern over lack of seal. I ordered late June 2020. The bottle came enclosed in a plastic bag. There was a piece of tape across the lid to help keep it from opening (similar to tamper evident seals used in pharmacies). Finally, the lid had to be unscrewed to remove a seal on the bottle, which was rather persistent. So I have no concern for adulteration. Of course the question of "what's in it?" is truly always unknown to some degree so I don't really get those other folks' comments. There's minimal fragrance really. There is camphor, oil of lavender and oil of rosemary, so there is a scent which is pleasant and I would consider these therapeutic as well. Fortunately my itchiness has subsided mostly, so I cannot rate efficacy, but the value was certainly great relative to comparable products. Applied easily and comfortably, not runny.

Safety seal under cap
Excellent price. Fast shipping. But no seal on the bottle under the cap? Is that not done? I don't wish to use it as anything could have been added to it. Sadly, it ia just the world we live in, but my fault for not checking or reading descriptions more or clarifying. I'll order elsewhere purchase. . Thank yoy

Doesn't come with a safety seal and is too perfume-y
I just received the Amazon medicated calamine lotion and was expecting it to have some sort if safety seal but it doesn't. How can I be sure it has never been opened before I put it on my kids' body? Also, it's too perfume-y. There is absolutely no reason to put fragrance (additional chemicals) in a product like this.

While this lotion works great, you need to be aware of several things:
I remember how great this stuff worked on me as a kid, & 50 years later, it still works great! HOWEVER, it still loses 1* for several reasons:1) It has a definite odor to it. While pleasant, I must be allergic to it, because as soon as I applied it (for the first time, indoors), I started coughing. So, I decided the next time I needed it to apply it OUTSIDE, & that made all the difference! No coughing.2) While I wouldn’t call it “greasy”, it definitely leaves a residue on your hands, which should be washing off immediately. Not that it’s going to create a health problem, but you’ll certainly leave a residue on anything you touch after that!As long as you’re aware of these 2 issues, then it’s highly recommended!

Exactly what I wanted
I was visiting and mistakenly stepped on a fire ant hill. Immediately it felt like an explosion on my leg, next thing I knew was fire ants everywhere on my leg; including in my sock and in my tennis shoe. I ended up with many fire ant stings or bites or whatever they are from my calf to my ankle. I became very itchy, blistered, red and swollen. Every morning after a shower I poured rubbing alcohol on the sores, then when it dried I applied this lotion. The lotion took away the burning and the itch. The pink colour hid some of the redness on my leg and the swelling went down. I love this lotion and will buy it again.
