Good router, stable; Hard to set up VPN PPTP client on router.
Summary; Received this router a week ago but could not set it up for VPN. The connection woke up immediately and I was on the web in minutes.No worries there.The user interface looks like something from the 90's but workable. I had to set up passwords for both 2.4 and 5 GHz because both are open by default. The user manual must have been translated from Chinese but still workable. I could not rely on it but it did provide me the administrator user name and password: admin (It's lowercase for both.)I changed the admin username and password, IP address range and router name I rebooted. I was unable to log into the admin panel using internet explorer but was able to do so with Chrome. Flushing the cache and cookies on the IE did not help. So, don't worry if you cannot get access to the admin panel with IE; try Chrome instead.The signal strength is amazing! I cannot believe I am getting full bars across the house right through three concrete walls. Either the walls are badly constructed or this thing is slowly irradiating me to death. Time will tell. If my pets start glowing at night, I may have to power this puppy down.Now for the downside:I have two VPN service providers for PPTP. One provides a long name (greater than 12 characters for a user name. This is important since the firmware on the router only permits 12 characters for the user name. Hence I was unable to connect to VPN unlimited dot com. Contacting the VPN provider seems pointless at this time.The second VPN provider did have a short username but its encryption settings did not permit connection. I have sent an email to UTT and am eagerly awaiting their response. Apparently the connection requires a synchronous option to be activated. The system log (on the bottom left of the menu) lists the connection failing with this message: "The synchronous pptp option is NOT activated".The booklet did have some information on how to set up the client - but its really basic stuff and not helpful in my case.I do not know how to activate this option from the menus given. Perhaps the vendor can elaborate in their reply.Finally, the speed test on the network confirmed that it is running as fast as advertised. There is apparently a load balancer on it too. I will try it with my other DSL connection in the WAN2 port but only if I know I have VPN client capabilities on this router.

Solid Good Router A+++
1st Day review: So far so good. Quality feeling build. Everything is working as it should. Setup was not too much effort. Running both channels. Streaming, gaming, dling without any issues. The packaging was nice. Everything was included. The interface is not as fancy as others like Trendnet or Linksys. However, because this is for business it has more actual features to adjust. Some I had to look up. This is not for a non techie. You need an understanding of networking or be able to do some googling to look up some settings. This does not do a lot of auto setup for you. You will need to configure 2/3rds of the settings.

Latest firmware release extremely buggy. I don't recommend this product for anyone in the USA.
Update on 2017.02.16...I just updated the firmware on this device to the AC750Wv2.5.3-161026 version.Some new features were added, but the web interface is /extremely/ buggy. The web interface is basically unusable from Chrome. Firefox barely works. All of the CSS styles appear to be optimized for Chinese fonts so pages don't appear correctly in English. Some features are simply impossible to configure due to javascript errors. I'm afraid to use other features because of the poor code quality -- I have know idea what security holes I might be opening up. It appears to me that little, if any, effort was expended by UTT on testing the firmware release.Reducing from four stars to two.Updating review after 6 months of use...This is a good router for the price. It has many capabilities that I don't use. I was contacted several times after I purchased the device to get my feedback. The engineers were eager to hear my feedback, but didn't offer any substantial fixes or firmware updates. I was able to resolve some minor issues with their help.The router was obviously designed with the Chinese market in mind. Many of the web filtering features only apply to those hosing a small wifi-access business in China, who sell access to wifi and/or provide access to many users of wifi and keep track of individual user usage. The router has many options for filtering and restricting access to various protocols and applications, but the application database is geared toward the Chinese market. It is possible to configure this router with open wifi access, and use a username/password to log-in instead.The user interface is written in English, but it's a little difficult to follow at first.Pros: - Reliable operation - never crashed in 6 months - independent 2/5 Ghz operation - USB port & microSD slot for enabling FTP access - "no-frills" enclosure - Supports multiple WAN + load balancingCons: - No isolated "guest" network (all clients will be in the same subnet) - Lots of missing documentation / help / explanation for features. - The per-user usage monitoring feature only works in Firefox due to a bug in the embedded Javascript code. In Chrome, the embedded javascript throws an uncaught exception, rendering this feature unusable. Haven't tried IE/Edge. - It's difficult to understand how certain features work and there is little or no explanation of features - No OpenVPN support (only PPTP & IPsec) - No mounting holes on bottom (can't flush-mount on wall)The following is a list of applications in the router "policy database" (which is not end-user editable). Note, the admin UI does not provide any details as to what any of these "policies" do in terms of monitoring / filtering.Name Type DescriptionMailQQ Email Bock QQ MailWLMessenger IM Block MSNAliIM IM Block Ali WangwangWebQQ IM Block Web QQFetion IM Block FetionBitTorrent P2P Block BitComet,BitSpiritThunder P2P Block Thunder SearchQQLive P2P Block QQLivePPStream P2P Block PPSKuGou P2P Block KuGou SearchPPTV P2P Block PPliveQvod P2P Block QVODBaiduPlayer P2P Block Baidu PlayerSTOCKURL Stock Block Stock SitesYouKu Network Video Block Youku.comTuDou Network Video Block Tudou.comAiQi Network Video Block iQIYI.comSouHuVideo Network Video Block Sohu.comKanKan Network Video Block Thunder KankanKu6 Network Video Block Ku6Net56 Network Video Block 56.comSinaVideo Network Video Block Sina VideoTencentVideo Network Video Block QQLiveCNTV Network Video Block CNTV VideoiFengVideo Network Video Block Ifeng VideoBaoFeng Network Video Block Storm CodecJoy Network Video Block Joy.cnPPS Network Video Block PPSFunShion Network Video Block FunshionGAMEURL Online Game Block Game SitesQQGame Online Game Block QQGamebnb Online Game Block BNBzhengtu Online Game Block Zhengtuwanmei Online Game Block Perfect World,Jade Dynastyxyq Online Game Block MHXYau9you Online Game Block AuditionHaoFang Online Game Block CGAWOW Online Game Block WOWAION Online Game Block AionPopKart Online Game Block KartRider RushQQCF Online Game Block CrossFireSDODN Online Game Block DragonNestTHE9SXZ Online Game Block ShenXianZhuanSDOMIR Online Game Block LegendTL3 Online Game Block TLBB 3CSOL Online Game Block CS OnlineSDOMXD Online Game Block MapleStoryQN163 Online Game Block QNYHWD Online Game Block AskTaoM3GUO Online Game Block Meng3guo

It's a decent wireless router overall but one thing that it does not do well is failing over from a primary to secondary internet connection which is why I bought this to begin with as there are very few affordable routers that do that.The term they use "Partial Load balancing" in the admin screen.My setup is Verizon FIOS for my primary and COX Cable for my secondary.I've had ISP issues on the secondary WAN (#2) which unfortunately rendered my connection to my primary WAN (#1) useless. It would only work when I unplugged the problematic WAN (#2) cable.Problems on the secondary WAN should not have any effect on the primary WAN !!May be they'll fix it in a future firmware update but it's an issue with the latest firmware which is v1.7.0-150602.So I can't give this product 5 stars unfortunately.I give it a 3.5/5 because it's a bad bug !
