Heavy and sturdy
We bought this to use when straining thick soup. And it works great and is great quality for the price.

My daughter-in-law loves it, she uses it to make fruit leather.
She says the size is big and perfect and makes short work of smushing the fruit into pulp for fruit leather. The wood quality is good and no imperfections. My wife thought the handles could be longer but the daughter-in-law says it is fine.

Good quality but not made in USA as listed
The item is a good solid smooth wood pestle. It will fit a large restaurant size chinois. I purchased this because it was listed as made in USA and as a wood item in contact with food that was important to me. It came labeled made in Vietnam. If it was made in China I would return it. Amazon should list country of origin on EVERY item sold. Consumers have a right to know what countries they support with their purchases.

Nice and heavy.
Probably the best chinois pestle on the market.

Needed for a Chinois
If you are going to use a Chinois, this is way more efficient and quick at moving your stock or sauce through the process than using a silicone spatula.

Good Quality BUT....
It's a good, heavy wood pestle. I bought this to go with an antique cone sieve and it doesn't really work well because the sizes don't really match up. My suggestion would be to buy the matching sieve so that it works properly.

Will get the job done
I purchased this to replace an older version which was cracked. This one is bigger and bulkier which can be a bit tough if your kitchen storage is tight but is effective and seems durable so far.

Only good for decoration!
Not very good. The bonding agent for the different pieces that make the object was showing after the first use. Not a solid piece. Feels like it should be sold at ikea. Just buy a steel ladle instead.
