When our gas dryer stopped drying clothes, I went through all the steps to try and get it up and running again: cleaned ductwork out, replaced thermostats and thermistor, checked ignitor for continuity, replaced thermal sensor. The dryer would initially ignite the gas for a few minutes and then never fire up any more. The igniter would come on, but you'd never hear the gas valve open up again. I tore apart the dryer three times and the last time, I replaced the solenoids. While I had the old solenoids out and compared them to the new ones, I noticed that there was no resistance reading for one of the contacts for the old solenoid. There was for the new one. That was the smoking gun. When I put the dryer back together with the new solenoids, it fired up the first time and every time afterward, when it called for heat! I can't imagine how much it would have cost to call out a repairman for this fix. Case closed. Happy wife, happy life!

My clothes had a odor of gas on them and this part fixed the problem. Don’t spend over $100 to hire someone to fix or buy a new dryer. This was a quick fix, just YouTube it and you’ll have it done in less than 10 minutes.
