Very happy with this thermometer!!
After years of guessing when the meat was cooked just right and cutting in to check I now can serve undisturbed steaks or chicken cooked perfectly. It's fast, accurate, and very easy to use. You'll have a temperature literally within a few seconds. The LED readout is plenty large and very easy to see. The small pointed end on the probe makes it easy to check temperature of most everything.I now use this thermometer for homebrewing, BBQ, and just about any other cooking around the house. I trust it to give an accurate reading for meat, candy, water, baked goods. If you cook or bake in any way, this thermometer is a must-have item. I am extremely happy with this purchase!

Read a Similar Review - Possibly bad batch of thermometers?
Another buyer had a very similar experience to me as reviewed here October 10, 2013...TAKES TOO LONG...I just received my Kiserena Digital Food Thermometer and was excited to try it out on a top sirloin. I seared both sides on infrared and grilled it at about 500 degrees until I figured it was approaching Rare. I pulled the steak to the side of the grill and inserted the thermometer. Per instructions, I waited to turn the thermometer on until it was well positioned in the meat. I expected a relatively immediate read in the 130's (the thermometer only showed 115 degrees to start which I knew didn't seem accurate) and I then experienced a slow roll up from there (in tenths) which caused the steak to be overdone to my liking. I prefer Rare meat (approx. 140 degrees) and I stopped cooking when the thermometer finally got to 135 degrees... I cut the steak (after about 5 minutes) the steak was medium...seems to me the thermometer isn't working correctly as the initial read in my opinion was too low...confused? Seems to have the air temp in the house OK...how much time should it take to be completely accurate on the initial reading? Again, I had it inserted in the meat before turning it on...

Large Face Good for Quick Read but S L O W to Register!
I like the face on this thermometer because it's easy to read. But it slowly, and I do mean slowly, registers the temperature of your food item. Even if you do what the manufacturer suggests and don't turn it on until it is inside the food item you are checking, it climbs very slowly. You'll wait so long that the oven loses the heat and you're extending your cooking time. I have other digital thermometers that work much more quickly and their cost was much less expensive.

Accurate, but slow--FAST read, not INSTANT. Nice that it is waterproof
I bought 2 of these for Christmas--one for myself, and one for my sister. The readings are very accurate, having checked it against chipped-ice water (32F), and boiling water (212F). When checking meat on the grill, the other meat is still cooking while you are waiting for this thermometer to tick up in 2 degree increments after waiting to turn on the thermometer until it is in the meat, as instructed. The size is nice, with the head being about the size of a silver dollar. The safety tube for the probe cracked on both thermometers and the clip comes out of the tube and stays on the probe. It is very easy to read, but a backlight function would be nice. The temp chart on the back of the package has F temps in the C column, and the F temps are outrageous, and 2 of the meats are spelled "lamP" and "chicHen" . According to the chart, poultry would be done at 356F! This is a nice thermometer, but it is NOT instant read as advertised, even when used per their explicit instructions.. I also considered these 2 cheaper thermometers:Taylor 9842 Commercial Waterproof Digital ThermometerandCDN DTQ450X ProAccurate Quick-Read Thermometer

Very good unit, does the job
Initial review: 12/29/13This is a very good digital food thermometer, more substantial and easier to read than the typical small units that I have had previously.Obtaining a quick and reliable reading requires putting the tip in the meat or other food and only then pressing the on button. If you turn the unit on before inserting it in the food it can take a very long time to reach its final temperature. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is not literally "instant" read; it takes several or many seconds to reach its final temperature. If I run into any difficulties with the unit I will update this review.Disclosure: I do not have a personal or business relationship with the seller or manufacturer of this device.

Best meat thermometer
The Kiserena Digital Thermometer is the best, no-nonsense, thermometer I have ever used. It registers the temperature quickly and accurately. It is extremely easy to read because of the large numbers. My Thanksgiving Turkey was done to perfection as a result of the thermometer's faultless reading. I have never had a thermometer that recorded the internal temperature with such immediate precision when inserted into the bird. I love it and recommend to anyone who is, at times, skeptical about poultry being completely cooked.

Kiserena Digital Food Thermometer - inaccurate
The Kiserena Digital Food Thermometer is large. You are not going to put it in your top pocket. That would not have been a problem for me. The one delivered to me was very inaccurate. I inserted the tip into a mixture of ice and water. The displayed temperature never got below 34 degrees F. I then inserted it into boiling water. The temperature never made it above 209 degrees F. And no, I don't live in Denver. I am no more than 100 feet above sea level. I would expect an accuracy of plus or minus 1 degree F for food preparation.I returned the thermometer.
