Clean up the greens.
Works great to repair new or old ball marks. It’s heavy and doesn’t fit well in a golf bag.

Heavy Weight Repair Tool
It's not a miracle tool but does do a nice job once you get accustomed to its weight and figure out the best way to use it. If the divot is deep and breaks the surface of the green you will need to go in with a hand tool to lift the bottom of the divot. After that the tool works well in smoothing out the surface. The four tongs will leave 4 small holes in the green which is said to be good for aeration purposes. If any rough spots remain I use a putter to tap them down. This tool saves much wear & tear on your back and is much quicker than regular hand tools. It needed to be oiled out the box. If you need to do this be sure to wipe the oil off before using on the green. The more I use it as a marshal fixing divots... the more I like it.

great ball mark repair tool
I always wanted one of these commercial ball mark return tools . Even though a little expensive, it is worth it to me. While I am playing, I am fixing 5 to 10 ball marks per hole. That is between 90 to 180 ball marks per round. It only takes 2 seconds per ball mark with this tool. Due to the fact other golfers that do not know or are simply to lazy to fix their ball marks, I now can do my part to help the other golfers and the golf course :-)

Does not work as advertised. And there are times where it damages the green.

Great idea, but cumbersome and frustrating to operate when ...
Heavy steel tool, with four biting points that close the grass dent as the flat plate tamps the dent smooth. The biting points, however, have the smallest margin to operate correctly. Even the slightest misalignment by any one of the four points renders the entire tool unusable, and usage over time is almost certain to create a misalignment. Great idea, but cumbersome and frustrating to operate when the alignment becomes screwed.
