Bracket best for portable
Bought this as part of an outdoor solar-powered lantern project at my home, to charge a 20 AH battery. I mounted the panel permanently on the house sloped roof but had to modify the bracket to do so. As other reviewers demonstrate the bracket does work well for portable use but could have been made more useful if the manufacturer provided a few more holes. That said the cabling setup they provide is complete and useful for a quick and/or portable setup. I can't tell if that cable insulation is UV stable so long term it might break down in sunlight. However as one of the photos shows a sliding cover conceals the panel wiring so I was able to connect cable having better insulation. Another photo shows the panel, cabling and controller under test with a 12 volt DC candelabra lamp -- I guess this is the proverbial "solar powered night light" ;-) Although the provided controller works well as intended, I ended up using another one that has additional features more useful for my application.

Great for keeping bilge pump battery charged.
Keeps my bilge battery topped up without issue. It is seldom in direct sunlight, but does the job nicely.

Not bad to maintain a battery not
Not bad little solar panel to maintain (will not charge a battery) my rv battery or my car while on vacation during the winter. Would have gave 5 stars if it came with a longer cord had to buy a 25ft cord.

Works well on Generator and Boat batteries
I purchased 2 of these, one for my generator and one for my boat. I have a different controller where I can monitor the actual voltage, but connect it to this panel for both uses. The panels are about a year old. They are mounted outside in the weather and have worked well. For my generator: it has kept my gel battery topped off and have strong starts every time. For the boat: It has supplied enough power to keep my 890CCA battery maintained during the winter and when the boat is not in use during the season, I have kept it plugged in and maintains a full charge. Given my boat battery is fairly big, this panel has worked fine. When I place my battery tester on it the tester confirms a 98% charge after winter. Pretty impressive considering the size of the battery and only 10W out from the panel. The panels get direct daylight for about 5 hours a day and then are in shadow. The controllers show charging still in the shadow so direct sunlight is not exactly needed but if you want to maximize your capabilities, I'd say make sure they have enough direct light for at least 1/2 of the day. Otherwise, the shade doesn't appear to hurt it any. Cloudy days still produce a good charge. Going to purchase another soon for my father's new generator that I am going to buy for him.

Works as advertised
I got this charger to maintain the starter battery on my backup generator. Works great. It's not designed to a rapid charge, but a slow trickle charge. It's small panel size is just perfect to mount to the top of the generator housing cover. Cables are long enough to reach. Quick connect connectors make installation a breeze. Well worth the money for what it does.

Did not work for me
This panel never worked at all. I tried to use it on my boat battery and did nothing.

Solar Panel: shows when charging, comes with manual
This is my second solar panel, I like it better (so far) than the other one I own for 3 reasons: long wires, can be placed in a wall (which I will do when I came up with a place for it as well as a plan for the wires), and (my favorite) the passage box that indicates if it is charging or not (I had to use a voltmeter, but mine is not always working perfectly so having this is great). It looks nice (as most solar panels honestly), and seems very resistant. I will definitely place it on my wall when I figure out the best place for it, I now keep it in my pool area where there is almost always sun light. Oh! It comes with a manual, my first solar panel did not so I had to figure things on the internet. And also comes with the necessary things to fix it on a wall if you want to.

This panel worked great out of the box. I had bought a cheaper version ($31) advertising 30 watts and it could barely deliver 2 watts under full sun and it was returned and refunded. This unit supplied 18 V at 150 mA on a fully overcast day. Controller is very useful as it indicates when there is sufficient solar radiation, charging, and fully charged. At fully charged status it puts out 13.3 V to keep the battery topped up. I would buy this solar panel again.

Based on the price point, I wasn't expecting that much from this solar panel and controller, however I have been pleasantly surprised. I use this in an outdoor bar to keep a 12 volt car battery charged that is used for LED lights and running a 12 volt cooler. When the panel is in direct sunlight it maintains the battery charge when the lights and cooler are used, extending the useable charge considerably. In overcast conditions it will still trickle charge the battery, but obviously takes a lot longer to fully charge it. My only gripe is that the supplied mount for the panel is rather flimsy. Its aluminium and very thin. It would be better if it were supplied with a sturdier mount that had a couple of legs, allowing it to be better braced. That said, this was still excellent value for money.

I discovered my new solar panel from a different supplier had failed after one winter storage season connected to RV house batteries. The battery pack is two 6 volt deep cycle batteries and they were down to 11.2 volts when i checked them late this spring. I removed the batteries, added water as required, and properly charged of them at home. I then connected the solar panel to the battery pack set up for 12 volts service to see if it could maintain them overtime. The panel drives the battery pack up to 13.5 volts on full sun days even with it not located in an optimum location. In our current heavy overcast conditions, due to the smoke from the west coast fires, the panel still is pushing the pack up to 12.8 volts. Time will tell if this solar panel system can do the job for the RV storage season but I am currently satisfied with the items performance. The battery pack will remain at home for this winter so I will monitor their condition through out the winter and update if necessary.

Ok, first things first. This, or any other 10W panel, WILL NOT recharge your big dead battery. For that choose something bigger, like at least 30W. What it does do is keep your battery from discharging over time in a vehicle you don't use often. Just like the description and instructions say! It's super simple to hook up but if you have a question like I did, tech support replies within hours. Great little unit. Would definitely buy a sefond one of I had another vehicle that's parked a lot.
