Max told Birthday Miracle (white dog) it is time for Operation Attack Cody.Be careful or will wake up Mommy & Daddy.Max & Cody promised them I would take care of Birthday Miracle.Birthday Miracle & Max & Cody went out to dig worms for fishing & named every one of them when we put them in a can.Mommy was not incredibly happy we got mud on her white carpet. We tromped down the trail to go fishing & Daddy told us about Toothy Brutus (fish).A duck had interrupted our fishing. He sure liked cheddar cheese popcorn. The pole started to bend. Cody gave Max the pole.It had to be Toothy Brutus.Daddy was explaining how to reel the fish into the bank.I do not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing free books from publishers & authors. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.An awesome book cover, great hand-drawn black & white charming illustrations & proper font & writing style. A very professionally written children’s (preschool/elementary; MS age) family adventure storybook. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters, settings, etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s family adventure movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. It was just OK for me so I will only rate it at 4/5 stars.Thank you for the free author (s); BookSends; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; bookTony Parsons MSW (Washburn)

We've Got the Fever!
Our family loves the Max E. James series, and Fishing Fever is no exception. When we started the series, my eight-year-old daughter was really into it. While my five-year-old son was interested, he didn't hang on every word like my daughter did. That changed with Fishing Fever. Both kids hovered over the book as I read it, demanding I read more, and pulling the book away to see the pictures. In Fishing Fever, Max gets to go fishing with his dad and his brother. Will they catch the legendary Toothy Brutus? You'll have to read to find out! But you'll enjoy every minute of it. The overall story makes you eager to find out what happens next, and like the other books, the humor is enjoyable for both kids and their parents. Fuzzy, Birthday Miracle, and other notable aspects of the previous books appear in this book as well, so you really get to know Max and Cody as characters. That said, Fishing Fever is fine as a stand alone book. Someone new to the series doesn't need to start at the beginning to enjoy it. In our house, we're looking forward to the next Max E. James adventure!
