I guess for everyone it works differently; everyone should figure out individual portion and what time of day/night it should be taken. For me personally, I've discovered half of a teaspoon with warm milk and honey works the best before I go to bed. Gives a restful night sleep. The package had only small label with bar code and the name of the company and product, but quality is very good and price is excellent.

Wished I found this much much much much earlier..I had a surgery for endometriosis last year and ever since was experiencing excruciating pain during cycles.I bought this just last month and it showed SUCH and AMAZING effect on me.. I did not have pain at all!!!! That was the first time ever after surgery I had a happy cycle..Not going to stop this anymore.. It has now become a part of my diet.Daily twice 2 tsp in warm milk!..You will definitely feel the difference...I have found a drastic change and it also controls the endocrine system which is the base for good health.Do pranayama and slight Yoga along with Shatavari... you will thank Ayurveda for it's most precious gift for women.Thousands of years back Women used to take this daily from start of puberty to menopause.. but it's unfortunate that over the period of time we forgot the importance of herbal medicines and it's amazing effects on the body.

Hi, I thought to share my opinion especially for new moms who are nursing/pumping and would like to continue for longer duration. I have been using this Shatavari powder for few days now and definitely i see improvements in amount of breast milk especially while pumping, although amount is not super increased but breast milk streams are coming very fast now (less amount of time) which used to be very slow and drop by drop for me. I get over 2oz milk if I pump after every 6 hours (of course I breastfeed my baby in between every two pump sessions so may be that's why while pumping i get bit less). But what I appreciate most is breast milk is now coming very quickly. I would certainly recommend it.Few things I would like to add based on my personal experience:1. Taste is not very bad or bitter as some of the reviewers have mentioned here. Take 1 tsp powder + sugar in warm glass of milk and take sips as opposed to drink it at a stretch.2. This powder doesn't completely dissolve in the milk so you could clearly feel that powder texture while drinking and hence you need to keep stirring milk and take sips. It might be physical property of that root powder that it doesn't completely dissolve in milk and we have to bear with it.3. Certainly it has merits for women and one should notice the change.You can search online as well for additional benefits of Shatavari powder.4. And lastly it's not verified by doctors and it's completely Ayurvedic but believe me it does wonders, so go for it especially if you are expectant or new mom.Hope this helps.

I purchased 2 bags of these as gifts for 2 separate family members. The packaging is nothing like what is pictured in the photo. I find that deceiving and misleading. You are probably asking what is the big deal, so what. Well, the big deal is that my recipients have no idea how many mg or gram(s) to take, they don't even know how many mg/gm are in 1 teaspoon, 1/8th of teaspoon or a cup of this powder. They are unsure what is a safe recommended dosage to take, when to take it and how to take it (ie, in filter water, in juice, in cold water etc). This came in a plain aluminum bag with a label appx .5 inches x 1.5 inches. The botanical's name is abbreviated/shortened on this tiny label. My recipient did not even know if it was safe to use because the bag is so poorly labeled. Come on now, at least have the contents of the bag clearly labeled and have the active ingredient potency mg/gram content listed. I'm so disappointed and baffled that it's ok to ship out a medicinal product with no instructions or active content information. I listed 2 photos of how the bag is labeled. You can clearly see that this is illy labeled and unsafely marked. Give me my moment back or give me some type of manual.

My low rating has nothing to do with the quality of nor the shipping of the product, but is attributed to the response I never received from the company.I would like to use my Shatavari powder but because I am not aware of the potency of their product, I am unaware of the dosages. I contacted the company directly through their web site months ago (immediately following receipt of my order) and never heard back from them.Starwest Botanicals if you read this please let me know what the recommended doses are.Thank you.

I bought this on Amazon along with Organic Ashwagandha powder for reducing anxiety and stress. It has helped me to calm down my acid reflux problem and soreness in my digestive system. I take 1/2 teaspoon of this powder with 1/2 teaspoon of ashwagandha powder in water after dinner.My wife takes shatavari very often and its helped her a lot as she is pitta nature according to ayurveda. She usually take 1/2 teaspoon of this powder dissolved in milk every night esp before her periods. It has helped her to calm down considerably during PMS and she says her hot flashes during the nights before her periods have disappeared. Earlier she had recurring UTI couple of times in the past. This time when she suffered from UTI she read online that shatavari also has anti microbial and anti bacterial properties and she continued taking this for a month after her UTI and it never came back.
