SkyGuider Pro Camera Mount with All Accessories

I am SO happy with my purchase and my faith in iOptron & the seller SkyViewerUSA; Peter in specifics. He went out of his way to fix appearance and performance on my Skyviewer pro all due to ME. My product came perfect. I had a bad accident. They were SO fast to respond, fix and return to me! less than a week! Peter even took work a side from work to make sure it got done! Phenomenal! I will continue shopping through the seller and creator because of this amazing customer service. They take pride in their products, service and the performance. They BOTH want you to get your full potential of the product and customer service. Thank you again.

Very well built and much easier to polar align than I thought. Carries a heavier weight. Although I have changed the base to what most people recommended I online, the base that comes with it has done the job well. The new base (WO) is just stronger and the adjustments are much easier. Great tracking mount though. If you are thinking of one, this is one of the best options...

I purchased this tracker in hopes of using it mostly to shoot the Milky Way. Since you have to point it at the North Star to calibrate the timing, that means pointing the camera to the south to capture the Milky Way on the unit is problematic. While there were also problems getting the red light inside the viewfinder to light up (had to turn things way more than anyone helping me had anticipated - meaning that I needed to line it up with the North Star before I could put the camera on), I got that figured out (two other people couldn't). The "manual" is NOT really helpful and is definitely a translation from another language and very awkward. I recommend watching the online video from the manufacturer, that gave a lot more insight than the pamphlet-type "manual" that came with it. When it arrived, there was minimal packing, which I found a little concerning considering the expense of the unit as well as how sensitive the electronics must be. What didn't work was trying to shoot portrait mode at the Milky Way. The 5 pound counterweight that came with the unit was not nearly enough for a tripod ball head (so you can angle the camera properly) and a Canon 7D with a 20mm 2.8 lens on it. I was advised by a friend in the A/V industry not to add more weight to it as that might prevent the tracker from tracking. When I did manage to precariously balance the camera in portrait mode, if I breathed on it, it would swing down into a useless position. I so wanted this tracker to work out, but it's just not right for me. I'm trying to return it now, but I was told that the company has 48 hours to determine if I can. Not sure why.... Going with a faster lens is a much better idea for me. I recommend looking at a faster lens to anyone before making a purchase of this tracker, especially if you are going to be at the mercy of the company for a return even during the acceptable return window.

I’ve used the SGP about ten times so far, and once I got a decent camera and lens (Samyang 135mm f/2), I’ve been able to achieve some good images for someone just starting out. Product itself: I’ve had no issues with the battery or tracking capabilities, and I’ve been able to achieve 3 minute subs with careful balance and polar alignment. I have a small 60mm APO on order and look forward to trying the SGP with that and a small guide scope. The attached shot of M31 is a total of 4 hours of exposure (3 minute subs) from a Bortle 3ish site. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 - I purchased the separate William Optics alt-az base, and that piece noticeably improved my ability to set up and polar align quickly.

Your my star, a star gazer too, and I wish that I where Heaven, with a billion eyes to look at you. Plato Works Great , Please give urecommendations for tripods that work and do not cost crazy amounts. Yeah the $350 Carbonite is nice. But ya got to keep the household happy too . My $30 tripod isn't going to hold this very well.

I initially had a problem with my SkyGuider and because of a delayed response gave the seller a one- star review. They did get in touch with me and resolved the issue with my SkyGuider Pro which operates fine now. I am giving them 5-stars now because they did come through and were very helpful. And, the iOptron SkyGuider Pro is an excellent star tracker for photographers wanting to go deeper into night sky photography.

I have been doing astrophotography for over 63 years. Normally I use some very high end and HEAVY gear. For some purposes like wider fields, solar eclipse, and simple photos this is all you need for some specacular photos. I compared to the Sky Watcher and while that one seemed to have some neat features....after buying it and finding the required Android app was junk, the operating method for the device was very poorly thought out, There were also a lot of reliability issues reported so I returned it and got the full pro version of the Ioptron. It works great with very good tracking, easy to Polar align using the built in aligment scope, and had a pretty high pay load. It also allows for autoguiding which may or not be useful for most users of this device. But I did set it up with my SBIG STi guide camera (required a little fiddling with a way to attach the camera. It will only guid in RA of course but with a good polar alignment that will be good for quite a decent maximum exposure time. I hve used up to a 300mmf4 Nikon ED lens on it with both a Nikon D 810 camera and also a ATEK cooled one shot color CCD camera. On one of my astronomy trips that I normally haul all my heavy gear to....I used just the Ioptron tracker with the ATEK camera and a few different camera lens. That allowed me to have a pretty compact setup that could all be packed into a backpack not counting the tripod. I sometimes do backpacking and this would make an astrophoto trip to the back country dark skies very feasible.....even at my age (74). I really don't have any cons with this setup. I do like that all controls can be set without using a cell phone app like the Sky Watcher. You do have to take some time to figure out how to connect the various parts to get the balance good but once you do it is simple in the future. Don't skimp on a GOOD tripod..,..,extra strength and weight means a vibration free setuip.

一式揃ってこの値段なら国産品でパーツを買い足すよりも安いです。もう少し安い他社製品もありますが、そちらは中国製なので敬遠してこの製品(米国製)にしました。三脚にカメラと乗せた時のバランスもよいです。使い方は簡単。最初に極軸を微動装置で合わせてスイッチをONするだけ。配線もパソコンも何もいりません。赤緯軸のモーターはありませんがカメラでの星夜写真には十分。追尾は星景写真にも南天にも対応しています。強いていえば、極軸望遠鏡の暗視野照明は赤径軸の回転が垂直位置の時だけ照らされ、実用上は何の支障もありませんが知らないと最初不良品と間違えかねないです。
