Henge Docks Vertical Docking Station for the Plastic MacBook 2006 to 2009

I'm not sure what the other reviewers are complaining about, if you follow the instructions Hendge provides, there wont be any alignment issues. Just don't over tighten the set screws and all of your cables will match up perfectly. This dock is everything i wanted and more, a nice, clean, and organized way to use my MacBook as a "desktop". I use my laptop as my main recording setup, and this has cut down on the clutter of my studio desk If i ever get a newer model, i will for sure purchase another one of these docks.

I just wanted a docking station that would "convert" my laptop into a home theater. So I dock it once and leave it that way. For that purpose, this works.However, on the rare occasions that I need to remove or re-insert the laptop, something invariably goes wrong: misalignment, cables pop out, etc. If you're going to be docking/undocking more than once a month DO NOT buy this.

This docking station is by far the best unit i have seen for older macbooks. It locks in a the cables well and makes are the ports accessible. The only negative is the assembly; you need to mount each cable separately using hex screws and tighten them so they do slide when the unit is dock / undocked. If they are loose, they slide out and damage the plastic housing of the connector. Once everything is in, you have a mammoth cable harness out the back to plug everything in. Considering how proprietary Apple is, this unit makes a MacBook docking station actually work.

Bought this for use at work because we are constantly in and out of meetings and connecting and disconnecting my Mac from my keyboard and monitor was a major PITA. I was excited at the prospect of being able to just pop it in and out of the dock whenever I needed to. The reality is nearly EVERY time I try to put it back into the dock nothing comes up on the screen because something is misaligned. Usually it's the power connector or the mini-video connector. As those of you who have a Mac know it will not light up an external monitor without the magnetic power plug attached. Bottom line, I have had constant issues with it from the day I got and have stopped using it.

This dock is perfect! Decided to purchase it after my Macbook decided to stop charging the battery. Figured I would turn it into a desktop computer for my wife to use so that she would leave my Macbook Pro alone. Easy to intall all the needed connections and works like a charm. I highly recomend this item if you plan on giving that older Macbook a second life as a desktop. Cheers to Hengedock!

This product is extremely overpriced. The marketing materials make it look like it is a dock with internal circuitry (and frankly the 70 dollar price tag implied that as well, or so I thought). When you open the box you get a big piece of white plastic and a baggie full of cables. I'm surprised there is not much competition for macbook docks because I would buy a cheaper "plastic only" version or a dock that is actually a dock. If you want to spend that much money on it more power to you but just be warned that this isn't technology, it's just plastic and cables.

Very easy to follow instructions, It is better than expected. I have more desktop space to do more work.I would recommend this product highly.

After an hour of following the direction and trying to get this thing to work as advertised, I still can't get the monitor cables to connect well enough to work. Screamed three times, considered lighting the box on fire on the step of MacAuthority where I bought this. thoroughly time wasting horrible experience.
