SimCopter - PC

The graphics are absolutely atrocious. Very low polygon count, very low texture resolution, very low screen resolution, very low color count, and if you try to run it in a modern computer the game crashes in seconds, assuming you can even install the game on your 64-bit OS. 10/10All of these issues stem from the game coming from the Windows 95 era. To get this working on modern computers, you have to work at it. Yes, it's a bit arcade-like and hardly realistic, but that can be greatly improved by adding /r2 onto the command line. In fact, with /r2, just flying the helicopter through the city becomes a real blast, despite the limitations of such an old game. It also makes the game much more difficult, especially on train rescue missions.If you want to play a good helicopter flight simulator set in an urban environment and don't mind the eye-meltingly atrocious graphics and the occasional progress-blocking bug which can only be fixed by safe saving and safe loading [read the game's readme], this is absolutely worth it.

For Windows 7 you cannot install the program on your computer you can copy the glide.dll and sst1init.dll files from the cd/simcopter/setup/system folder and into your windows/system folder not your system 32 folder. You will need to open the cd folder and right click on the autorun.exe and set your computer to run in Windows 95 265 colors and run as administrator. Then you can run form the CD autorun.exe. There is a bug in the program, which causes the program to crash after running for a period of time, but I found that if you saved the game after each mission is completed into you document folder the program will run fine.

I love the game but not compatible with my computer so I can't play have windows eight and can't get it to work

Sim Copter is a quite old game (1997). The idea is that you start out with A helicopter and some money, you need too complete missions to earn more to buy new copters, and accesories. After you've completed all the missions you move on to the next city with tougher missions (and more money). The gameplay is OK but the controls aer'nt very realistic. The graphics are horrific the cars, sims, and some buildings arent even textured . The music and the sound effects are lacking and there's no ambiant sound. You can upload SimCity 2000 cities and play in them but its useless with SimCity 3000. The game does have quite A few bugs, sims can get stuck, your pilot can get stuck too and if you do it right your pilot can jump out right as your taking off and your copter will crash. Overall this game is OK but maxis ought to remake it with better graphics, less bugs, more levels and stuff to buy, and to work with SimCity 3000 cities. But you still should'nt get it there's just to many problems.

Sim Copter is an okay game, but when it comes to graphics... well let's put it this way... the graphics are AWFUL! People look polygon-like, like a square body and triangular head, you can't tell if it's a sheep, cow, or dog, or anything like that.When you fly your SC2K city it looks like a second grader made a city from cardboard and paper and a pree-schooler painted it. If you don't care for graphics then this is the game for you. Aside from the graphics it is a pretty good game. i personally enjoy hijacking apaches from air force bases and destroying the city with missiles and killing people with guns, even though you loose a ton of points and money. oh well.

Glitchy, bugy, chock full of errors, and lacking in originalty at points.Yet so addictingly good.Fly a copter and do missions in the janky world. Drop people in the ocean & watch them drown just because you can.Strive for the best copter with all of the enhancmentsGet extra money & tear gas the sick guy your trying to save.rescue people from burning buildings only to drown them in the ocean.the possibilitys are endless. In fact I feel an itch right now to bounce some poor pedestrins off building corners with a long dangly rope.Hope you have fun.

This is a classic favorite. It’s been 22 years since I last played it, but it is still awesome! Unfortunately, I could not get it to run with Windows 10, but somebody created a plug-in called SimCopterX, and it works great with my 12-year old Windows Vista laptop. I feel like a kid again! Now if I could just get SimCity2000 to work to let me fly through the cities I build... They really need to re-release this awesome combo!

This is such a fun and easy going game. It is a one of a kind. No other game out there like it.Sure, graphics are horrible compared to today's standard. The music is great. The game play is fun.
