it may appear to be the wrong part
check to make sure the end of the the old plastic connector is not snaped off clean and still inside the water inlet housing adapter? if it is ,,you must remove the spring clip holding that adapter twist the adapter out then remove the little piece inside that has broken off just pick it out with something then the new piece will fit and snap into place securely.. otherwise it will not fit into the water inlet housing adapter where it is designed to go.... . the dealer part is much higher and will be subject to the same multiple failure s.......

broke two days after drop dead return date
This product was delivered to me on July 29th and on august 31st, it cracked and began leaking. Of course, two days outside of my return window. I'm wondering if this is a faulty part or just very cheaply made.
