Best of British
Superb value. Excellent sound. Clear but not aggressive treble, fine mid range, good bass, decent remote. Build quality is very good and so are its looks. Keeping things simple pays off. Cannot imagine this can be bettered at the price.

Incredible sound at an incredible price !
I purchased the Cambridge Audio AXA35 4 weeks ago to create a second smaller sound system in my home, I paired this amp with a set of Bowers and Wilkins CM1 S2's, with streaming music from Amazon HD via a Macbook pro and a Topping D50s Dac (wired not Bluetooth), all I can say is WOW, the system is simply incredible. If you like your music clean, fast with a slight V shape to the sound, this is the perfect setup. I thought 35watts per channel may have been a little low, but other reviews had stated otherwise, and they were right. The power is more than ample, I cannot really go past -20db it's just to loud. The sound is clean and clear all the way from low up to very high volumes. I prefer single voice single instrument or simple music recordings where you can hear the instruments and voices, this system and amp produce a wonderful separation of the sounds with a wide sound stage. For a smaller room, this is simply stunning sound and value. Thank you Cambridge Audio for an audiophile-level amplifier at a sensible price, having not wasted any time or money on digital inputs, no receiver, just straight forward analogue heaven, 5 stars is not enough !!

Wow! I never knew what I'd been missing!
What a revelation in high-fidelity sound! My old amp was really showing its age (nearly40!) and when the right channel kept cutting out on all sources, speakers and headphones I knew it was time to bite the bullet and get something new. I chose this Cambridge Audio unit because of the numerous reviews from respected sources (including being What HiFi's Best Buy) and because it fits my needs exactly. Well it was delivered today (very quickly) and I wasted no time in plumbing in my trusty Technics CD player and Dual turntable, running the amp through my elderly but still very capable Pioneer S-Z73 speakers. Testing it out I was blown away! The difference in sound quality from my old JVC amp was night and day. This one is punchy and bright but with realistic depth too and plenty enough power for my foreseeable needs. Plugging in headphones to the full size (1/4") jack socket cuts off the speakers and delivers the same glorious sound experience through the cans (in my case AKG K44s). The unit exudes quality being beautifully designed and put together with choice materials. The remote control works perfectly, allowing all amplifier functions to be used plus a host of non-amp functions, presumably for the other products in the Cambridge range. In conclusion, I am very happy with my purchase and would not hesitate to recommend Cambridge Audio units. I've been trying to find something I don't like about it; some negative point in the interest of balance...but I can't. It's excellent!

Excellent
Bought this amplifier to replace my ancient arcam alpha. Sound is superb. I'm very pleased. Perculiar flaw in volume control. It doesn't remember previous volume, so you have to turn it up from near inaudible every time you switch it back on. Irritating in an otherwise excellent product.

GREAT AMP FOR THE MONEY
I'm clawing my way back into hifi again after having to sell a very nice system (a very long time ago) due to circumstances. For the last 15 years I've been listening to music through a laptop with decent 2.1 speakers and (mostly) mediocre headphones, so have built up a huge collection of quality mp3, flac etc.I purchased this amp largely on the recommendation of The Audiiphiliac, and the fact that I have used Cambridge Audio (and Arcam) components before with great success. I have not been disappointed this time around. This amp is superb for the money. It's powerful (I'd say it gives way more than expected) and produces a warm, sumptuous (Steve's word) sound, while at the same time giving as much detail, imaging and soundstage as you could wish for at this price level. If it's your thing, just turn the treble up a little and you immediately get a more forward and even more defined and clearer sound without sacrificing depth and warmth (I always loved my treble lol). It really is an outstanding amp.Using with my laptop and an ifi Zen dac (also incredible value for money), and I couldn't be more impressed.Happy bunny!

Superb Amp But Missing A Sub-Woofer Out
I am not an audiophile but I love the output of this amp and have no complaints at all about the build quality which is superb. However, the one thing missing that would make it perfect for me is a sub woofer output and I really wish I had stumped up the extra £100 to get the AXR100 Receiver instead.

Sound is very impressive, it is a pure amplifier, no gimmicks or fluff.
