Great product
You can read all kinds of reviews about Norton products - both good and bad. Let me say that I have managed web sites and the the lead on a multi-million dollar development before retiring. I'm not an expert, but I do know a little bit about virus protection, malware, security, etc. The biggest complaint about Norton 360 is that is slows a PC down - and that is true in some cases. When downloading, browsing and viewing items on or from the Internet, there is going to be a very minute delay over running your device without protection. That small delay is well worth the protection afforded and any decent virus or security product is going to cause a small delay - so why not get the best. That's just my opinion for whatever it's worth. I've used a variety of security/virus protection products. I switched to Norton a number if years ago and I've been using Norton 360 since it was released. I've never had any problems with successful attacks, virus, hoaxes, malware and most phishing is eliminated. I had one problem with an update once and Norton was excellent - spending over two hours taking control and updating the registry and installing missing components. I called them another time about updating my license and both times, the support was excellent

Painful Installation
Installation was unexpectedly diddicult. . My existing security software for my 3 laptops/PC's was 360 Premier and installing the regular 360 was very difficult. I used the Norton Removal tool first to remove all traces of the 360 Prmier. Then I tried to instal the 360 from CD. As soon I loaded the CD, a list of installation choices was displayed. The recommended procedure was to instal from the Norton website so I selected that. But then I kept on getting a Norton server error. Wasted a good hour doing that so I installed the 360 from the CD. The instal went smoothly but then trouble started again when I attempted to do a live update. It took forever like 7 hours and I think it wast caught in some kind of loop. I had to stop this process via task manager. I then used the Norton Removal Tool and started the whole process again. I then attempted to instal the 360 via the Norton website again I got the Norton server error. I went through this iteration 4 times and finally got our desktop working. Did the same thing with my 2 laptops and experienced similar problems? In total, it took 3 days to instal the 360 onto 3 machines. I think there was some kind of compatibility issue with the 360 premier version being replaced. Also I noticed during the bad instals the new icon was displayed as Norton 360 Premier whereas it should just be Norton 360. Next time around, I will just stick with the same software. Besides the installation difficulties, seems to be working fine now. Live updates are very quick and scans with good speed.

Worth it, doesn't slow you down.
Low cpu and memory load, and runs unobtrusively in the background- enough configurability for power users, but also simple enough to be used as a "fire and forget" program for noobs. This does system diagnostics, drive defragmentation (caveat: do NOT defragment solid state drives, EVER) provides a robust firewall with good reviews, and performs a lot of system maintenance without a lot of supervision. A bit of advice from someone who has tried, and sometimes failed to retrieve the irreplaceable information lost to hard drive failures and hacks: If you don't already have one, get an external hard drive that uses USB to connect to your computer- and set up the backup function of this software to use it external as the destination. Cloud storage is convenient- but if you have to backup a photo collection like mine, you'll be uploading for weeks- and paying a small fortune. This is the one I use on vacations- I use an 8 TB NAS on my home network, and I burn all new photos to m-discs about once a year to keep my storage needs under control. http://smile.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Military-Shockproof-Standard/dp/B00KF4DWU6/ref=sr_1_48?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1410210730&sr=1-48&keywords=external+hard+drive
