Mary Sue Valkyrie
I love the world created and the characters so two stars for that. Too bad it's ruined by the main character, Ari. She's boring, predictable, childish and Mary Sue all over the place. She's irresistible to every god she runs across, they all fall in love with her or want to have sex with her. She's the cure for all their ails. {yawn} How in the world did these gods exist for millennia without her? You have gods who don't act like deities who've experienced all the worlds have to offer and thus are constantly caught off guard and can only be saved by an undead heroine (in the sack and out of it), able to catch the clues that gods thousands of years old miss. Yeah, right. Save yourself a lot of eyerolling and pass on this.

Not really what I expected
Let me start by saying I chose this book mostly because it kept popping up on the marketing screen on my Kindle and I got curious. I checked GoodReads and the rating was pretty good so I decided to buy it. In between the time I bought it and the time I read it I forgot that the Thor and Loki characters were part of the story. Because of that I couldn't get Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston out of my head and that was somewhat disappointing to me. Anyway, the story ended in a cliffhanger and I wasn't intrigued by the story enough to continue with the series.

Cant wait for the rest
I was very happy with the beginning to this series. Im especially happy with the main character. Ari is different thatn all the other heroines ive read before. She isnt a push over or a stumbling ditz. She isnt a whimpering lame-a** virgin either. Shes a real person with real issues and is a real bada** hero! I always hate when writer make their heroines the ideal 1940's house wife thats so dependent on men to take care of them and sit and whine about how everything 'just isnt fair'. You get none of that bull with Ari. Shes a girl i can get behind and im so looking forward to seeing where she goes next.

Awesome
Ari hasn't had the best start in life, neither have her brothers. Little Petey is only 6 and still at home with their unreliable Mum and her endless stream of abusive lovers.Ari is doing whatever it takes to make enough money to get him out of there. Except fate has other plans for her.Being bought back to life as a Valkyrie by a bunch of Gods and a frost giant who are all searching for the Allfather, Odin, wasn't part of her plans. But it's what she has to deal with. How can she meet their needs and protect her brother from all the threats facing him?

Loving this series so far!
Right off the bat Eva has sucked me into a whole new world. Ari is a strong female that has been through a lot so far. Her only hope is to one day get custody of her little brother Petey from her mom, but then she is Claimed by gods. So much happens in this book to keep you on the edge of the seat. Waking up to 5 gods after being hit by a vehicle and knowing your dead isn't what Ari was expecting but so far a couple of them gods has caught her attention and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Enjoyed book 1 of this Norse Mythology RH!
Enjoyed this first book of Eva Chase's supernatural RH series focusing on Norse mythology. I really enjoyed Aria, the valkyrie that was made by combining essences of Thor, Loki, Hod, and Baldur. The reason they ripped Aria from her impending death to become this powerful creature of lore was to help find the all-father, Odin. We get to see Aria come to terms with her new life, protecting her one remaining family member who matters while dealing with all of this, and her start to build potential relationships with her Gods. I really enjoyed her getting to learn her powers. I thought it was kinda abrupt but I understand to get the story moving along that needed to be done. I liked seeing the walls start to crack/crumble between her and certain characters. I think in book 1, Loki was probably my favorite. That does get challenged in book 2 haha. Overall, I thought it was a solid 4 star start to this series. I went to the next book immediately after finishing this one, with how book 1 ended I needed to know what new thing they had to overcome haha. For the narration, I always enjoy Aiden Snow when he does the male narration, but he isn't my favorite when he has to do the female voices, and that is still the case here. He would get 100/5 for the male narration, but only a 4/5 for the female. He does a fabulous job I think especially with Hod, Aiden is amazing when you bring darkness and mystery into a story. For Samantha Cook's performance, I thought she did a great job. She was amazing with Aria and Petey, and some of the guys. I did have a couple instances where I couldn't tell which guy was who, but nothing too major.Definitely would recommended this series for those who love the action-packed stories, supernatural/magical powers, and reverse harem. Book 1 I will warn you is not steamy. I would classify it a slow-burn, almost medium-burn. The story and relationships come before the sex, which is good for this type of storyline.

Love it!
I am a sucker for Norse mythology and just about everything Eva writes. So far, this may be my favorite series I have read of hers. Ari isn’t the typical female main character who is innocent. She has a dark past, doing whatever she can to survive and protect her little brother including breaking laws and working with criminals. She has also had a traumatizing childhood with sexual abuse but the author doesn’t describe it in detail which I am thankful for. She actually never comes outright and says it but the reader can easily get the gist of what happened when Ari was a child. I can see how this trauma has helped to shape the person she is in the present which I must say is admirable to me.The dynamic with the Gods actually surprised me since I figured Thor would seem to be the Alpha but it seems as if that role goes to Loki. Maybe I’m just biased based on the modern depictions of Thor and Loki in the mainstream media. My favorite character is either Hod or Loki... why choose though??This is a RH Harem series with a little steam which I’m sure will continue over the series. The steam and sexual tension definitely doesn’t take away from the actual storyline. It’s a fantastic series opener and I cannot wait to read the next one!

Puny Gods
I don't have enough words to express how much I love this book. What an excellent start to a new series. I'm a huge fan of Norse mythology, so I was so psyched that Eva Chase wrote one! Her take on the Norse Gods was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire book. I was captivated from the very beginning. The character development is brilliant and is very consistent throughout the book. The characters are very believable, they're personalities are displayed perfectly. The story flows effortlessly and is written very well. All in all, it was a truly great book! One of the easiest five stars I've ever given!

Love ari
Aria is a strong and funny capable woman! I'm pleased she's not depicted as this innocent mousy 17 year old. She has such strength. This book starts kick ass but sort of plateaus. I do love how different the 4 gods are but really want to delve more into them.

Iv'e read very little based in norse mythology and this book convinces me to read more. Ari is a great MC and I love the charaterisation of the gods themselves. looking forward to book 2.

A great read
Love Eva Chase. She is a brilliant author and I love reading everything she writes. Her characters and world building drags you in and holds you and her storytelling wraps you up and doesn’t let you go. She is amazing. You laugh and you cry and your heart melts and breaks in all the feels that she leaves you with. I’m so glad I took the recommendation in a readers group to pick up her books. I haven’t regretted it once.

Nice but no real surprise
I m pretty sure I read another book with the same beginning. It s nice enough to read but we see what is coming and It s a little phoned, and hard to believe. But I enjoyed the first and second, not sure about the third through.
