Changed My Life!
This thing changed my life! How could a simple leash do that you ask? Allow me to explain. I am training my Dutch Shepherd according to the Koehler method. He recommends a 15' leash but it didn't seem long enough. I got this 30' leash and it transformed my dog! Instead of using a 6' leash and constantly tugging on her Koehler recommends you take your dog to an open area, pick out 3-4 spots and just walk from point to point without prodding or verbal cues to your dog. This taught my dog to pay attention to me at all times. At first she bolted past me and hit the end of the leash. But now she stays within 15'-20' of me at all times. In addition it allows her to smell and run while giving her the feeling that she is free but watching me. Dutch Shepherds are high energy and after 30-45 minutes of this type of training she get more tired than if I just walked her 5 miles. It has built her confidence and created a better bond between us. I can see where this foundation we are building is going to be a benefit later on for shorter leash work and then off leash.

Beautiful Color, Strong, Well-Made, Heavy-Duty Snap!!
Very strong and well made! Absolutely LOVE the vivid, brilliant purple color against my dog's coat - we get lots of compliments on it. The length (for him) is perfect; gives him plenty of walking space, being a good sized dog. Will definitely order one or two more, as this one ages. The heavy duty snap lever pushes in for great security, and looks sharp too - highly polished chrome. Please disregard the reviews where people obviously let their dogs chew through the leash; dogs that are left unsupervised to chew, will get through anything except a chain. 70% of purchasers give this product 5 stars - 6% give it one star. If you read through those one star reviews, it's obvious these individuals either can't read or don't have an ounce of common sense. This lead is a heavy-duty nylon; yet it is very easy on the hands. I have both cotton and nylon exercise leads, and this is by far the best of all of them!!Cheaper quality nylon leads will slice your hand if the dog pulls it hard enough through your hands - I know. This lead is a very comfortable, strong nylon quality. I have a 200', a 100', a 50', a 30', a 20' and a high quality 10' leather lead, from other suppliers, and this one is the one we use the most!!

Product not as shown in photos
Feb 2017, I ordered 6 of these leashes for my dogs. I am still using them today, April 2020. They are extremely sturdy, strong and long-lasting. My dogs are strong pullers and these leashes hold up to all kinds of abuse, wrapped around trees, drug across rocks, through mud, water, and remain strong. I recently got a German Shepherd puppy who chewed one of the leashes, so I ordered a new one to replace it. I just received the new leash and was disappointed that the metal snap that attaches to the dog's collar was not what was shown in the Amazon ad. LupinePet has replaced the snap with a cheaper version that is not as safe. Plus it is misleading in that all their photos show the higher quality snap. I am reluctant to use the cheaper snap because my dogs get tangled a lot and I have had similar snaps release from the collar setting the dog free. My dog almost was hit by a car when he ran out into traffic after a tangle released the snap from his collar. This has never happened with the higher quality snap which is much more secure.

Doesn’t “Float” but doesn’t Sink Like a Rock
I am using this 30’ lead with my lab to let him swim and play fetch in the lake while giving him a reasonable distance to chase/swim after his dummy “duck”. I can toss the orange dummy, which comes with a wind-up rope for launching, a reasonable distance and I only wade in the lake a bit rather than having to chase him around everywhere or limit the distance of the toss. It was surprisingly easy to manage the extra length of leash. Twice I thought it would tangle itself and it seemingly magically unwound. I was able to choke up to about 5’ no problem when some other dogs walked by. The bright orange color is fantastic! It lets it be obvious my dog is on a leash and I could vividly spot it just below the surface of the lake. It doesn’t actively float but it doesn’t sink like a rock either. It stayed very close to the surface for an hour of play. Wish I had bought this a long time ago instead of my rope and caribiner combo.

and Lupine products have been excellent so far
I prefer the nylon leads to cotton because they're easier to wipe down and resist staining, and Lupine products have been excellent so far. Has held up well to sand, ocean water, dog pee, and getting dragged through the dirt this past year, and the color hasn't bled/faded at all either! The clip has also held up better than expected to occasional sand and saltwater. I don't even think I've rinsed this lead off and it still looks really great. It hasn't frayed yet either, although the edging looks a tad frizzy. The stitching is still strong and there are no tears so far.I also really like that Lupine guarantees their products, although I have not had to ask for a replacement yet.

Clever "Off-Label" Use?
Durable, easy to spot in the grass. Good length and good price. We aren't allowed to tether the dog to anything at our apartment building (trees, posts, etc), and we aren't allowed to let him run free either. Well, those rules make it hard for us to enjoy the lovely green space together. Using this, the pup can run and enjoy a bit more freedom than normal leash walks. I just need to hold the end or secure it to myself. In a pinch, I've slipped my shoe off and gotten my foot through the handle so I can relax while the dog plays (supervised, of course). I just put my shoe back on after to make it more secure and I can still use my hands to throw a toy, or open water for us, or whatever.

Would not be without them
I bought 3 of these leashes(different colors) for my Rough Collies and they work great. The 30 ft is lots to give my adult dogs and pups a lot of room to move around but still giving me control. They are well made and don't cut into your hands. As I am in a wheelchair I can now exercise my dogs the way I want too without worry of them going to far away but still being able to run when needed. The longer leash is a great training tool to teach the dogs to come when called from a longer distance. The clips are heavy duty and very durable and the leash itself is really good quality material webbing.

Great quality lead for an excellent price
I bought this for my mother who is not a fan of using retractable leashes but wanted a leash with some length for exercising her rambunctious puppy. I have purchased Lupine products in the past and was very happy with the quality and this was up to the standard I am used to.The last Lupine lead I had bought was more than double this price and only 6' long. These leads are great as they combine strength with a good overall product. As a woman I like the handle as well they do not fray or discolor with exposure to rain or snow.Highly recommended

VERY PLEASED!
We love this product and have ordered two others. It is not recommended as a tie down but we do use it as such while we are present with our dog. We live in the country and have a lot of land so we also use it as a leash and it serves as a training lead and leash at the same time. We didn't remove a point on this item because we are very pleased with the quality provided by our good New Hampshire neighbours. But this is the one irritant - the clasp, although it holds well, is too small. My wife and I are considered "petites" so even though our hands are small we find that double the size would greatly be appreciated - frustrating at times especially in the cold weather. We're trying to find a solution without risking the security of the lead. We also ordered the collar and are very pleased with the quality. Thanks.

I think it's great
Perfect length, not too heavy for my dog (20 kgs), and feels quite soft in the hand when you're controlling the length. The material is much better than the cotton one I was trying to use previously, and is probably a lot better for not picking up water, dirt and micro-wildlife when it's dragging through the grass! Colour is awesome, you can tell a mile away my dog is on-leash. This is my second Lupine leash and I've been impressed with the quality of both of them. It's nice to find leashes that feel sturdy, kind to the hands, and with trustworthy clasps at a reasonable price.

Great training leash
Great quality for the price - this is almost half the price of the long training leads in the local pet stores. I like Lupine products and I like the way the hook works. If you're used to the "usual" style clip, note that this operates by pushing on it, not sliding it down if that makes sense. My husband isn't keen on this style but I like it because it's different :)
