The description reads a sturdy plastic bottom
I purchased this recently. My plan is to mount it to two pedistals. I was a bit disheartened when I opened the box. The description reads a sturdy plastic bottom. I figured as with most boat seats the base would be hard plastic and equipted with mounting holes. Instead, the bottom is made with a thin flexible, plexiglass like material. To top this, there is no mounting holes. I would have sent back if I had paid the normal $300 bucks that Amazon wants for it new; however, I purchased this as an Amazon return, (excellent condition) so instead I only paid $100. and got free shipping all the way up to Alaska. For the shipping alone on this size bench seat it would have been $100+. My plan now is to drill some holes and use some glue and mount this to a 2x8 or a piece of plywood. I gave it three stars for price simply because the other than what I just explained, the actaul set seems nice. Only time will tell, though.

Nice seat. Looks well build but the one I received is actually 49 inches not 48 kinda threw a wrench into the plans. For 461 dollars ot should be the size stated not an inch bigger
