Before Simon's Cat, before Grumpy Cat, before cat videos and endless memes, there were Kliban cats, those helluva nice animals frequently mistaken for meat loaves. Kliban's twisted but affectionate humor was the granddady of all the silly cat books, and it's just as welcome now as it was in the 70s. If you've never seen a Kliban cat, you could do worse than to spring for this book. It's worth every penny, and then some.

The book itself is wonderful, I’m a great Kliban fan. However, the book I received had printing problems. The image on one page has a ghost image imprinted on the facing page, as though the book was bound before the ink dried. This has ruined many of the images in the book.

I have loved the Kliban cat for years. I think they first came out with them in the early 70's and I was hooked. Each picture is so funny with captions that will make you laugh your tail off! One of the lines in the book says, "Love to eat them mousies, Mousies what I love to eat. Bite they little heads off, nibble on they tiny feet." Sound gross? It's hysterical and is that way throughout the book. I would recommend this to cat lovers and anyone who likes comics.

These cartoons by B. kliban really stand on their own, as the most insightful, knowing and hilarious treatment of these fascinating little animals you and I thought we knew everything about. Evidently, we didn't. Kliban was a master cartoonist, and he reveals all the attributes of Felix domestica in his great volume of drawings. Even non-cat owners will treasure this little volume, which hopefully will be reprinted until the very end of time.

I used to flip through this book over and over of the shelf of one of my dads friends when we would visit his place when I was little. I'm 36yrs old and to this day I sing the "Love to eat those mousies" song randomly. Glad to have the book in my collection.

This is a classic that I received as a gift back in the 70's. I purchased this for a young teen that shares a love for all things feline. Its really funny and the illustrations are timeless.

Fell in love with Kliban and his cats in 1975 when the book originally was published. I bought and gifted innumerable copies over the years and one day looking through my library realized I didn’t have one for me. Thrilled to find it on Amazon. The cats always make me laugh.

Whether you're a cat lover or not this sweet little book is guaranteed to make you purr contentedly. B Kliban's skill is in conveying comical situations to their best advantage. An ideal gift - and not just for crazy cat ladies.
