Beautiful, heavy duty, tactical training, Tomahawks
I’ve bought several of these tactical training tomahawks for my martial arts students as I’m a private martial art teacher and I highly recommend these due to the excellent quality!

A Great Training Hawk!
I wanted a tomahawk trainer and this one looked intriguing. I had never used a tomahawk with a spike on the back, or any handle other than straight hickory. In other words, I am used to traditional tomahawks and wanted to try something different without spending to much of my hard-earned cash. I was wary of using a hawk with a spike in case it bit my shoulder or forehead! The handle on this item is very comfortable and almost mesmerizing to me how versatile it is. Slight finger grooves near the top are great for choking up on the handle, while a straight middle allow rapid transition for a higher or lower grip. The bottom of the handle flares out like an axe handle and is comfortable and aids in a secure grip. The material is tough. The balance is good, but unknown if it accurately represents the real item. So, in sparring with this tomahawk trainer I have discovered that the spike can occasionally bounce, be pushed into, or accidentally come back into the user's shoulder or forehead! Still, as a way to experiment, spar, and train, this is a good piece of gear.

Solid Cold Steel Trainer
If you've never tried out any of Cold Steel's trainer weapons, they all have a few things in common. They are made of some sort of stiff impact resistant plastic that is virtually indestructible. However they should really only be used against each other, steel weapons with edges will cut them. Wood weapons are generally okay to use, though the cold steel trainers can do some damage to them. This trench hawk is a bit light, and effectively blunt by comparison to a real trench hawk, but it's comfortable to hold, and really sturdy. The handle tapers a bit at the end to keep your hands from slipping, but I'd still recommend using some sort of grip tape on it. The shaft of the hawk is the point that might flex if its to warm, so keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight (a car in the sun would be the worst, keep it in the trunk) While these are meant for training purposes, they function as great clubs for personal defense. Proper protection and caution should always be used, since a solid hit to a forearm would cause a break. THESE ARE NOT TOYS! Don't give these to your kids thinking that it's as safe as a nerf weapon, it is not! Check out some of the Cold Steel trainers, they smash cinder blocks, break cow leg bones and destroy pallets. A lot of people who do airsoft like these for close combat side arms.

Excellent practice axe!
Very durable, decent weight. My wife had carpal tunnel surgery and this is perfect weight and heft for her. I bought it for her as a gift, she loves it!

pretty nice meelee weapon
I was looking for an airsoft meelee weapon with some reach and maybe leave a mark. While I have not gotten to use it in a battle yet I have of course swung it around a little and hit it on a few surfaces and that's where my 4 out of 5 stars comes in. I tried to hit it on the ground and I did not swing very hard but I guess it hit a rock and that fid a bit of damage to the end of it. It was nothing too bad but the end did get scratched up.besides that it is a good size, has good length, and rather light. I can't wait to use it in a game and I'm also glad that I would be the one handling it because I wouldn't want to be on the opposite end of this thing getting swung at!

VIKINGS!!!
An awesome product by the one and only COLD STEEL knife company!! Safety is the utmost concern when training any bladed art. Many modern axes and tomahawks come double edged making it a bit more on the dangerous side when wielding a live weapon. A double edge is very effective in real combat (e.g., hack forehand, hack backhand, hook a limb or even a plunge it into the carotid). This training tool (made of rigid rubber) helps you train with the size, awareness of a double edge when retracting such a weapon for the next striking blow, and the whole weight of it all. As you see here, I bought two!! Double ax weaponry is one my favorite things to train. ALL hail King Ragnar!! A History channel inflused influence? YUP!! “Vikings” one of the hottest shows out there, and an ax is a tool that every household should have..

No doubt buy it!
This is the best training tool in the universe. INDESTRUCTIBLE CINDER BLOCK-CRUSHING INCREDIBLE-LOOKING AXE! I have used this for sparing with my cousin who has the hand and a half sword. ( dude get a better name for it ) I haven't destroyed cinder blocks but with a strengthy guy I'm sure it would work; I've crushed tree branches before though. This is extremely high quality and I recommend it VERY highly. Pros: All black. The black does not come off. Use it for climbing; I have many times used my whole weight on it. I'm 105 pounds. One can thow it, but it could definitely hurt someone. Extreme durability. Smash anything. *Smash a big tree branch* "See that big crack in the axe?" "I don't see a single scratch." "Exactly." Comes in one piece, no shipment breakage at all. Cons: MY FAULT: I melted the under side of the blade a bit while trying to zip-line. STILL SO AWESOME THOUGH.

Rubber is a misnomer
The axe head is rigid and of the same material as the handle. Polypropylene? Great for slow drills. If you're sparring at speed, be ready to be hit by a hammer. Cold Steel, if you're listening, it would be great if you could make this same piece with a more forgiving head.
