We have it mounted on a wall, vertically, in a semi-sheltered spot by the front door. Even though the adjustment buttons are at the top (thus more likely to get wet, but avoids tampering), it has managed to survive several serious downpours. The IP rating seems to hold up.It is very bright - the mention of it being equivalent to 100-150W is not unjustified. It is also nice that it has a white "glow" rather than an in-your-face spot light, and dims after a set time before completely turning off. You also have the option to keep it dimmed at all times, and get brighter when approached.Sensitivity of the sensor is excellent, and we had to dial it back quite a bit because it would even pick up passing cars on the road. It is not 'immediate' though, there's a distinct delay but hasn't bothered us. Very nice that it uses a microwave sensor, so the device doesn't have an odd PIR sticking out.So far, we're very pleased with it!

Worked fine for 8 months. Now it doesn't come on at all. I think it's the sensor because there's no switch to override it, it'll never work again.

This is a very neat tidy emergency light. I got 2 of them. One for the living room & one for the hallway in a bungalow house. No need to be looking for candles or flashlights. They come on the second the power goes off. They go out & start recharging again the second the power comes back on. They need to be wired by a qualified electrician. Not for DIY unless you have very good knowledge of electrics.

After our lights went out one night, (due to the electric tripping off,) and fumbling to find a torch in the blackness, I found this on the Amazon site. Fast delivery, well packaged. Easily wired in. Now we have peace of mind, if the electricity trips off again we shan't be stranded in the dark. Recommend purchase.

Wired it up to a 3-pin plug (3 Amp fuse) so it is portable - no problems and a handy light in a power cut.
